The morning sun peeked through the thin curtains of the main window of the room, tempting to wake up from its deep sleep the squirrel who felt that his world was upside down because of the previous night.
Jisung grunted in annoyance as the sunbeam began to shine into his eyes, causing him to inevitably wake up.
He ran a hand through his hair and scratched his eyes like he used to do every time he woke up to clear any traces of sleep that might remain on his body.
Jisung sat up in bed ready to get up and head to the bathroom to take a shower like every morning when a sharp, agonizing pain appeared in his head.
"God!" Jisung exclaimed suddenly as he wasn't expecting that sudden headache.
He let his head fall back onto the pillow because of the pain and covered the sunlight with his right arm because it was bothersome to him.
After agonizing for a couple of minutes, Jisung removed his hand from his eyes and took a quick look at the bed across the room.
'Right... It's Saturday so he's not here.'
As usually, Jisung woke up alone in the room every Saturday morning since it was the day Minho went out to party outside the institution with his friends.
The prestigious Chanyeong Academy allowed its students to leave the centre every Saturday and Sunday from 9 in the morning to 7 in the afternoon, so many students took advantage of the opportunity to leave the centre with their friends or to visit their relatives.
Jisung hardly ever left the centre. The most he had ever gone out was to visit his parents very occasionally and because they had practically begged him to.
Han spent all his weekends, free time, study hours and even late nights studying.
Don't think it was because he liked studying in the slightest, no no. Jisung hated spending all his days studying more and more every day, but he knew it was the right thing to do so he continued doing it anyway.
Sometimes he wondered what it would be like to meet his friends to do something other than study, but he quickly tried to clear up his doubts and concentrate on his obligations.
It's not like Felix and Seungmin hadn't tried to get Jisung out of his A-student bubble and go with them to have some fun, but he had always refused any plan they proposed unless it included spending hours studying together.
Instead, it was the opposite case for Minho.
From what Jisung knew, which was only what he had personally seen every weekend since he started sharing the older man's room, he had what seemed like a semi-established routine.
Minho would wake up around 10am to Hyunjin slamming the door yelling at him to get up once and for all, which usually ended with Minho refusing to get up and open the door, which would lead to Jisung to leave his notes aside, because yes, he had already been studying for several hours when that happened, and open the door for Hyunjin only for him to throw his best friend out of bed so that he could get up at once.
After Hyunjin waited for Minho to get dressed and ready, they both left and Jisung didn't see the older man again until several hours later.
And although the curfew to return to the academy on a Saturday afternoon was 7 p.m., Minho always managed to arrive at the room at 11 p.m. at the earliest, that is if he didn't come back at 3 in the morning or else, he wouldn't come back at all.
So even though Jisung was agonizing from a headache, he was able to remember why the older man wasn't in the room, and he was sincerely grateful that it was that way.
