In the jam room of the Revenge there sat Frenchie, plucking away on his lute as you lay in a hammock. Lucius and Black Pete were sat in one corner chittering about something lovey dovey, catching up, most likely.

There was a barmy glow of the rising sun that was filtering through a single lean mesh net on the deck above. Through the torn, precise holes there came civil beams of sunlight. It was a cold air but you had blankets on your lap and a pillow you had taken from Stede's sofa, much to his disapproval.

Just when Frenchie was thinking of putting his lute away, in the softest voice the men had ever heard from you, sang,

"Do you want me or do you not?..."

Frenchie caught your pace and played along with you as you sang slowly and serenly.

"I heard one thing, now I'm hearing another
Dropped a pin to my parking spot
The bar was hot, it's 2 am, it feels like summer..."

Lucius and Pete quieten as they listen in to your heartfelt, sappy emotional lyrics.

  "Happiness is a butterfly..
Try to catch it like every night
It escapes from my hands into moonlight
Every day is a lullaby
I hum it on the phone like every night
And sing it for my babies on the tour life
Ah ah...

If he's a serial killer, then what's the worst
That could happen to a girl who's already hurt?

I'm already hurt...

If he's as bad as they say, then I guess I'm cursed.
Looking into his eyes, I think he's already hurt

He's already hurt."

Tears were a far off sight with your mindset, somewhere between softened happiness and a drab sadness that felt nostalgic. The best description was a deep sense of melancholy.

"I said, "Don't be a jerk, don't call up Blackbeard!"
Sitting in your leathers, crying in the backseat
Ooh..

I just wanna dance with you
Hollywood and Vine, Black Rabbit in the alley
I just wanna hold you tight down the avenue
I just wanna dance with you
I just wanna dance with you....

Baby, I just wanna dance (dance)
With you (dance)
Baby, I just wanna dance (dance)
With you.."

You closed your eyes you felt these words flow with each emotion you attempted to express. And unknown to you, there was a certain someone listening by the door. Izzy. He leant against the doorframe with a scowl formed with a sense of his own melancholy to his features as he listened intently.

"Left the canyon, drove to the crew
I was one thing, now I'm being another
Go down to Sunset in the truck
I'll pick you up if you're in town on the corner
Ah ah

Happiness is a butterfly
We should catch it while dancing
I lose myself in the music, baby~"

You sang 'baby' with a sweet smile but half-lidded eyes that seemed sad, still.

  "Every day is a lullaby
Try to catch it like lightning
I sing it into my music, I'm crazy

If he's a serial killer, then what's the worst
That could happen to a girl who's already hurt?
I'm already hurt.
If he's as bad as they say, then I guess I'm cursed
Looking into his eyes, I think he's already hurt
He's already hurt.

I said, "don't be a jerk, don't call up Blackbeard!"
Sitting in your leathers, crying in the backseat
Ooh..

I just wanna dance with you
Hollywood and Vine, Black Rabbit in the alley!
I just wanna hold you tight down the avenue!

I just wanna dance with you..
I just wanna dance with you...

Baby, I just wanna dance...
With you
Baby, I just wanna dance..

..With you."

Frenchie strummed to an end and you smile as you roll over in the hammock and mumbled, "I was hoping we'd duet in a fun song.. I hate being depressed."
