"Lalalala~" You cheerfully skipped around the woodsy forest, having Pomu following you from behind.

It had been a few days since you met Pomu, and you wanted to continue your research. You had a good idea of going outside, and you were able to convince Rosemi to take some books to the forest to do some research there, hoping you'd be able to concentrate in a more natural environment.

Although, as much as Rosemi liked spending time outside, she simply told you to be careful with the books as those were her prized possession. In response, you really just nodded and ran out the outside door with Pomu.

You placed the books down, and gracefully sat down. Pomu let out an 'Ooo' as she watched you sit down. You reach for your head to fix your hat, but wait...

You didn't have it. You forgot that it dropped as you got sucked in the portal in Teyvat. Sighing, you felt your happy mood disappear as you began to feel homesick once more. You opened the book and began reading, trying to get back on track with your research.

"You okay, Y/N?" Pomu asked, laying down beside you while kicking her feet. "Yes, yes...It's nothing really, I suppose I just miss home.." You said softly. "Mm, I guess I can understand. But, I kind of wish that I left my home." She says, fiddling with a flower.

"Oh? Why's that?" You asked, skimming through the previous pages of your book. "It's because..I was always told I wasn't told to explore the outside world. Humans were losing hope in fairies which was draining our magic." She says nonchalantly. Suddenly, you looked at the blonde haired fairy with a slightly sad look on your face.

For some reason, her situation felt familiar to you which was probably why you pitied the poor fairy. She was a fairy of big energy, and you knew that if there was ever once a time that the little fairy cried, you would too.

But not knowing how to comfort her, you just patted her head. Although she didn't seem sad at all, you just felt the need to offer a small act of sympathy.

And with that, you began to pick up where you left off from the book and continued reading while tending to the conversation between you and your lively blonde fairy.

"Hmm..." You slightly grumbled as you tried to ignore the constant meowing you heard from the bushes as it annoyingly grew louder.

Meowwwww

Feeling done, you set the book down on the grass as you turned to Pomu.

"Pomu, is that you?" You asked, your eye twitching in annoyance. Not at her, but the sound. She turned to you with a confused look as the fairy didn't seem like she was speaking at all. In fact, she was busy making flower crowns instead.

"Huh? No, why?" She asked out of pure uncertainty. She slightly tilted her head as the both of you listened in for any noises.

Meowwwwww!

A sudden meow was heard from behind the bushes as the both of you slowly whipped your heads around to where the noises were being heard. You sweatdropped and gulped as you took the book from the grassy area and stood up. Pomu followed after you, placing the flower crown on her head.

The both of you slowly approached the bushes and trees that were blocking the source of the sound. You reached for the bushes, and moved it out of the way so you guys could continue walking. As you did so, both of your eyes slightly widened at the sight in front of you.

It revealed a green haired girl kneeling down with cats surrounding her. She looked so happy talking to the cats, she was petting one of them and held one of them in her arms as well. You and Pomu were a little shocked seeing a random girl in the forest, being surrounded by cats too.

You guys didn't wanna startle her or any of the cats so as to not cause any slight chaos between you and the cats. But soon enough, the green haired girl was able to notice you and Pomu standing there. She revealed her full body and you were slightly stunned at how colorful and cute she was.

She had long shiny green hair, fish fins for ears, a purple crown that rested on top of her head, and lilac flowers above her ears. She was wearing a blue sailor-like dress with a belt made of seashells. And most importantly, her beautiful light purple eyes that looked at you with innocence.

You blinked a couple times before clearing your throat and speaking. "H-Hello there!" You said with a slight voice crack. She looked at you both with bright eyes as she opened her mouth to speak.

"Oh! Hello there! Who are you guys?" She spoke enthusiastically, placing the cat down and running to approach the both of you. "You're a mermaid, aren't you?" Pomu asks, feeling eager to know about the green haired girl. "Mhm! I'm the mermaid princess!" She replies happily.

"A- A mermaid!? If I recall, I read about you in my book.." You say, as you felt astonished while searching for the Mermaid chapter in your big book. You ended up finding it, and studied the picture that the book presented of what mermaids looked like.

You repeatedly looked at the picture and at the green haired mermaid a few times as you hummed in confusion. "Where's your mermaid tail, and how come you're able to get out of the water?" You asked curiously. "It's supposed to be in there, I read the book myself!" The green haired girl says, walking over to you as Pomu crouches near you to peek at the book.

She points at the text near the picture and reads it aloud.

'Mermaids have the ability to stay out of water for as long as they wish. When out of water, their tail disappears and turns into legs' You let out a "Huh-" sound. "You guys look cool with your tail!" Pomu randomly adds in as you chuckled at the blonde haired fairy. You closed the book and stood up. "Anywho...

-I'm Y/N L/N, the one and only!" You say, putting on your elegant demeanor. Pomu giggles at your actions, she finds it funny how you're really silly and soft on the inside, but pretend to be posh and elegant with others. "I'm Pomu Rainpuff! I'm a fairy!" Pomu says with a smile.

"I'm Finana Ryugu! I've never met a human and a fairy before, I've only heard about fairies!" The girl named Finana says with a smile as big as Pomu's. She reminds you of Pomu when you first met her, which is funny because it's only been a few days since you've met the fairy with big energy.

'Well, now you have the great opportunity of meeting us!" You say proudly, placing both hands on your hips. Finana chuckles at your behavior, she somehow finds entertainment in it. "Do you wanna be friends, Finana?" Pomu offers. "I'd love to!" The mermaid says, jumping happily in excitement.

"Wonderful! It seems like we're befriending more people day by day, dear Pomu!" You say energetically. "Follow us, we have another friend nearby!" You continue, motioning to the direction of the mansion as Finana nods in agreement. She felt happy to make new friends, no matter if they're different species.

You lead the both of them to the mansion, as you three begin talking about your likes, dislikes, what you're interested in doing, etc. Just like with Pomu, the three of you got along pretty well. Maybe it's because you both had so many in common, or because of your bubbly and happy behavior. You didn't know, but you were happy to make some new companions.

Eventually, you were able to reach the Mansion once more as you placed a finger on your mouth, signaling Pomu and Finana to be quiet as they giggled in agreement. The three of you walked inside, only to find Rosemi minding her business in the kitchen.

"BOO!!" The three of you yelled, attacking Rosemi in a random hug. "WAAAH-" Rosemi screams, falling down and landing on her butt as the three of you squeezed Rosemi playfully. "Hey Rosemi! We brought a friend!" Pomu says happily. Rosemi sits up and looks at Finana with a grin.

"Hello there! My name's Rosemi! It's nice to have new friends." Rosemi says, her grin not faltering. "I'm Finana! Nice to meet you Rosemi!" Finana replies happily.

And with that, the four of you happily talked more about yourselves. And it marked the day you met with the mermaid princess that was surrounded by cats.
