y/n's apartment lock beeped, announcing that someome is unlocking the door

scaramouche looked at the door with confusion – why would y/n come back already? it's only been 15 minutes since she went out

he snapped out of his confusion as he noticed the male figure at door, it wasn't y/n's figure but heizou's

they exchanged looks as heizou took off his shoes, while scaramouche is laying down on the couch

"why are you here?"

scaramouche asked, making heizou scoff and roll his eyes before he got in the living room

"a hello would've been much more friendly,"

"hello."

heizou stood there in surprise. he did not expect him to actually say it – not seriously at least.

"did you eat something wrong?"

scaramouche rolled his eyes and turned to look back at the tv

heizou sat beside him and watched tv along with him

"i'm for real though. why are you here?"

"many reasons. first one is, if y/n trusts you to be here alone, i don't."

scaramouche nodded – it's not surprising and it was understandable for him. after all, they didn't spend much time together

"and second, i want to get to know you better. and well, i have many questions."

scaramouche looked at him with surprise.

both realized that first impressions shouldn't be trusted, as both of them came off rude at their first meetings

"ask."

"why did you cut ties with ei?"

scaramouche's expression turned serious in moments

heizou almost regretted asking him, but he had to know the answer

"i didn't think you'd get to my past this fast."

"that too. why did you learn hacking, and how?"

scaramouche sighed. all questions were related to each other, and all of them were quite hard to answer

he turned the tv off as the background noise annoyed him

"sorry, but i need you to answer those questions before i could trust you."

he let out a deep breath before answering

"why i cut ties with ei was because she abandoned me, kind of. i was born to protect her authority,"

heizou nodded, gesturing him to continue.

scaramouche scratched the back of his neck and looked away as he continued explaining

"but she thought i was too weak for that. so in the end, she 'set me free' saying she doesn't want to intervene in my fate."

heizou kept nodding – if anything, he was quite speechless but he wanted to listen to the rest

"so then, a lot of things happened when i was on my own.. which made me join an organization, they taught me hacking to bury my past and completely cut ties with her. but.. she never bothered to look for me– anyway, that's it."

he stopped himself before he'd get emotional, and heizou noticed. yet, he chose not to push it more, and scaramouche was thankful for that

"too much information.. but i expected as much. you did bury your past well, that's why we never knew that ei had a son, until we digged too far."
