Pallet Town- Oak's Laboratory Part 1

Professor Oak's playful smile widens as a burst of light fills the room, momentarily blinding everyone. When the light fades, a brand new Pokémon stands in the center of the lab, bathed in the afterglow. It's a Riolu, the Aura Pokémon!

But this Riolu isn't your typical eager-to-please starter. It stands proudly, arms crossed in a defiant pose, and its eyes gleam with a cocky, almost arrogant glint. A low growl rumbles from its throat, a challenge hanging in the air.

Shanely, momentarily surprised, quickly recovers her composure. A thrill shoots through her. This Riolu might be a bit rough around the edges, but its confident aura sparks a fire in her own competitive spirit. This could be the perfect partner for her.

"Well hello there," Shanely says, a confident smirk playing on her lips. "Looks like we both have something to prove, huh?"

Professor Oak chuckles, a twinkle in his eye. "Ah, this is the surprise I mentioned. This Riolu," he explains, "this a rare case. It chooses its trainer just as much as the trainer chooses it."

The defiant Riolu, revealed to be a female with a spiky blue mane, narrows her eyes at Shanely. This trainer, late and seemingly unprepared, doesn't exactly scream "worthy partner" to the prideful Pokémon.

Shanely, however, doesn't back down. In fact, the challenge only fuels her determination. "Alright, Riolu," she says, extending a hand towards the Pokemon, "I know you seem skeptical, but I promise you won't regret giving me a chance. We can be a great team."

Riolu scoffs, turning her head away and crossing her arms even tighter. This human seems far too eager. She lets out a low growl, a clear rejection.

Professor Oak, ever the observer, strokes his chin. "Well, Shanely," he says, "it seems you have your work cut out for you. Perhaps show Riolu what kind of trainer you'll be. "

The ringing phone cuts through the tense air in Professor Oak's lab. He excuses himself, a hint of relief in his voice, and answers the call.

"Hello? Yes, this is Professor Oak speaking..."

Shanely steals a glance at Riolu, who remains stubbornly uninterested. This unexpected interruption throws a wrench into her plan to impress the prideful Pokémon.

As Professor Oak listens on the phone, his expression shifts from amusement to surprise. "A parcel from Viridian City's Poké Mart? How unexpected..." He hangs up, a curious glint in his eye.

"Well, this is interesting," he announces, turning back to Shaney and Riolu. "It seems a package has arrived for me at the Poké Mart in Viridian City. Perhaps retrieving it could be your first test, Shanely?"

He throws a playful wink at Riolu. "Maybe what's inside will pique your interest as well."

This unexpected turn of events could be just the opportunity Shanely needs to break the ice with Riolu. Will they embark on a quest to retrieve the mysterious parcel, and will it hold the key to winning over the prideful Pokémon?

ROUTE 1: UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER

The challenge in Professor Oak's eyes glinted with a mischievous glint. Shanely, ever the opportunist, straightened her posture, a determined grin replacing her earlier smirk. "Professor Oak," she declared, her voice ringing with confidence, "consider it done! Riolu and I will retrieve that package. We'll be back in a flash!"
