Chapter one - The Mysterious Building

Ash and Lizzy rode their bicycles to their favorite spot, which was the oak tree on the district’s end. It takes 12 minutes for them to reach there from their homes and by that time they’d usually finish gossiping about everything that happened the previous day in their lives. 

“Did you notice our math teacher’s nose yesterday? Her nose has occupied 90% of her face!” Lizzy said.

“It's just a little wider, by the way, why are you making fun of someone’s body part. what could she do about it?” Ash said. 

“I'm not making fun, I'm just asking if you’d noticed it too”

“Okay! stop with her nose and focus on how we’re going to get into that thing”

“Yeah, that thing that we discussed yesterday. Just thinking about it gives me chills. Are you sure we’re gonna get into that thing?”

“Yeah we are going to get into it but I'm just not sure how! Can you think of a way”

They rode together in silence until they reached their spot. 

They met Fez and Martha sitting in their car below the oak tree. Martha was blowing out a puff of smoke from her cigarette while Fez was in the driver’s seat engrossed in his iPad, only god knows what he’s doing on his iPad always. 

“Hey Martha,” Lizzy said, Fez slowly moved his head away from his iPad and looked at them.

“Hi Lizzy,” Martha said and crushed the cigarette with her trekking shoes, everyone could notice that we were well prepared for the occasion. 

Ash and Lizzy pressed their brakes, rested their bicycles on the tree’s trunk, and met everybody. 

“Fez did you bring everything I asked you to yesterday?” Ash said.

“Yup,” Fez said. And showed his backpack to everybody. 

Then everyone did what they would usually do, climbed the tree and took their spots at the highest branch. Then Ash started “Alright everybody, did you guys think of a way to get past the gate?”

“No,” said the three in unison. 

“Okay, then we have no other option other than what we discussed yesterday. Which is using fez’s car to break open the gate”

Fez laughed “No, my dad will whoop my ass in fact all of our asses if he gets to know that I crashed the car that I stole from him”

But everyone else thought it was a good idea since the gate seemed impenetrable by human forces.

After arguing back and forth for a while, they made Fez agree with his car being destroyed with the gate to the thing which is the mysterious building. 

Yesterday when the four of them were having their usual conversation by the tree’s branch, Lizzy’s focus trailed off because she spotted a beautiful black cat eyeing them from a distance. It almost looked like the cat was spying on them for a while. 

Ash asked “Are you okay Lizzy? You’re not listening to us, what are you even looking over there” She turned and noticed the strange cat too, 

“What fascinates you guys?” bored Martha turned her eyes in that direction and looked at that strange cat.

All of this happens, while Fez is playing a game on his iPad, completely oblivious to his surroundings. 

“Let’s go to the cat and see what happened to the cat, it looks a bit strange” Ash started to climb down the tree, and Martha and Lizzy followed suit, while Fez remained there.
