It was a normal spring day; you got up at 7:30 to go to college, had a shower, got dressed and walked downstairs. Your father was sat at the table reading the newspaper, sipping a cup of tea and your mother was making pancakes. You grabbed your bag, smiled at your mother and rushed out the door, late as usual. You hadn't even said 'hello' or 'good morning' to your parents. As you walked out the front gate and down the street you did notice a weird gas smell, but you dismissed it as a gas leak from one of the old warehouses across the road. You experienced a normal, boring day at college- you were retaking the year due to your parents dragging you around, house to house, across the country.
You left school, walking home alone. Reaching near your street you noticed huddles of people on the corner, staring up in misbelief. You looked up seeing smoke filling the afternoon, blue sky. As you walked closer people stopped staring at the sky and turned to you, pity smeared across their face. You turned to the corner, confusion draped over you. Looking up, you see bursts of flames coming from the upstairs of your house, the heat hitting you almost as hard as the scene laying before you. You ran to the front of your house, scanning the madness of firefighters and paramedics. You screamed for your mother. The only response was the avoided look of the paramedics as they wheeled out a body covered by a black cloth. It was your mother. You dropped to your knee's crying, the pain strangling you. You felt a pair of comforting arms wrap around you. Looking up you see your father. He displayed no grief, no emotion. You looked at him tilting your head in confusion. Why was he not crying or even showing some emotion? He started to walk you towards the house, past the firefighters and paramedics, onto the front lawn. You started to resist, but he pulled harder. A voice came from behind shouting for you to stop. Your father jerked his head around and his eyes flashed black. A tall defined man, with light brown hair, apple green eyes and a sharp jawline, dressed in a suit started running towards you. Your father quickly pushed you into the house, smoke filling your lungs, making it hard for you to breathe. You tried to crawl out but your father grabbed your legs pulling you further into the remains of your burnt kitchen. The smoke blurring your vision. Your hands helplessly grasping at the floor. Suddenly the grip loosened around your ankles and your legs dropped to floor. You couldn't breath, smoke suffocating you. You felt as though your lugs were going to collapse. You laid on the floor helpless, trying to call for someone; anyone, but no sound escaped your mouth. You saw a shadow walking to you. Wincing thinking it was your father, back to finish the job, you took your last conscious breath before falling into darkness.
You opened your eyes slowly. Adjusting to the brightness, you noticed white walls, white floors, white beds surrounding you and a golden glow through the middle of the floor, coming from the setting sun getting its last look of earth before it sleeps. You were in a hospital. 'What happened?' you asked yourself. Floods of images of your house burning, your dead mother, and your father. His eyes. Black, they were black. You sat up ripping off the tubes taped to your arms. Jumping out of the bed, you ran towards the door when two nurses bumped into you stopping you.
"Hey you need to be resting" The red head one said.
"No, I just want to get out of here" You screamed back
"I'm sorry you can't, you need to rest, you [need]..." The second darker skinned one said.
"Fuck your rest, I don't NEED nothing" You said pushing past them. They tried grabbing your arms but you pushed them off, one of them falling to the ground. Turning back around you walked into a tall defined man, with light brown hair, apple green eyes, sharp jawline. Why was he so familiar? You'd seen these perfect features elsewhere. Frowning at him you tried to remember, your mind filled with replaying images of your dead mother and demon-like eyed father.
"Is that how you look at all people who saved your life?" A husky voice invading your thoughts said.
"Saved my life?" You said confused.
"Yes, do you not remember? I guess you were unconscious. I was hoping the groans you were making were consciously made" He said smirking.
"You're are seriously trying to flirt when my house was just burned down, my mother killed and father tried killing me, let alone his black eyes." You said disgusted.
"Black eyes?" He replied.
"Yes" You said bluntly. "And if you don't mind, I have some place to go."
"What like running from the nurses you just assaulted?" He said raising an eyebrow. You smiled, looking behind to see the nurses pointing at you talking to a security guard. You turned around pushing the tall man.
"Run!" You shouted. The tall man held you, stopping you from running. "What are you doing? Let go!" You said, betrayal soaking through your body.
"Don't worry" He said flashing a FBI badge at you. 'FBI, great' You thought to yourself. You stood behind him as like a shy 5 year old, as he showed his FBI badge and told the security guard he was just going to ask a couple of questions, he'll look after me then return me to them.
"I'm not a child! I can car for myself now, I don't need anyone to look after me" You said, obviously offended by the man's remark.
"Look, do you want to get out of here or not?" He said.
"A hot FBI agent breaking me out of hospital. Wow never thought I'd be in this position." You said smiling. 'Fuck, did i just say hot.' You thought, going red in the face.
"Hot ay?" He said smiling. "Oh and I'm not really an FBI agent, but I'm definitely hot."
"Actually then, I meant to say, A cocky federal criminal breaking me out of a hospital." You say pouting.
"And you are a cheeky but hot college student." The man smirked.
"Well, yes but if my stupid parents didn't keep dragging me across the country I would be in uni right now." You said angrily before breaking down into tears.
"Hey, come here, I was wondering how long it would be before it all kicks in." The tall man said sympathetically, hugging you, before signalling to the security guard that we was going to take you into a another quieter room. He let go of the hug and walked you into the room while you were sobbing. "I can get you out of here if you want?" He said raising your chin with the tip of his finger. You look into his deep green eyes, nodding. "Do you somewhere you can go?" He said. You looked down shaking your head.
"A-all my family is on the other side of the country, and I-I don't really like them anyway." You said between sobs. You wiped your tears and stood up straight. "I'm 18, I can fend for myself now."
"Look, I got a motel room down the road you can come stay the night, its getting quite late now."
"Thanks."
"I'm Dean by the way. Dean Winchester."
"Y/N Y/L/N."
