"On that day, humanity remembered... the fear of oppression under them... and the humiliation of living in these cages we called walls." He mutters, "Over a hundred years ago, humanity suddenly found itself faced with a new predator."

"They were far more powerful than humans. Humanity was immediately pushed to the brink of extinction." He explains, "The survivors built three walls: Maria, Rose, Shiina. There, they enjoyed a century of peace. However..."

Back In Shiganshina, where Titans are invading. "For till then I was a soul in misery, alienate from God and covetous of all earthly things. Now, as thou seest, here punished for my doting. Such cleansing from the taint of avarice do spirits, converted, need."

"This mount inflicts no dire penalty." A Titan grabs a woman. "No! Let me go!" She yells in horror as she is brought closer to the titans mouth. "O avarice! What canst thou more, who has subdued our blood so wholly to thyself, they feel no care of their own flesh?"

A Titan grabs Wallist. "O avarice! What canst thou more, who has..." Hannes is running with Eren, Cass and Mikasa. Eren and Cass hit Hannes making him drop them on the ground, "Cass, Eren, what are you doing?!" He yells.

"We were so close to saving our mom! Why did you do that?! We almost saved our mom!" Hannes growls, "Get a hold of yourself!" Hannes throws Cass to the ground. "Cass!" Mikasa yells as Eren glares at Hannes.

"Cass...Eren... The reason you couldn't save your mom... is that you lacked the strength..." He explains, " The reason... The reason I didn't fight the Titan... was that I lacked the courage! I'm sorry..."

Hannes, Eren, Cass and Mikasa continue walking. Mikasa holds her forehead. "Ah, it's happening again..." She mutters as Cass looks at her worried. Meanwhile near the inner walls. A Soldier yells at people.

"Hurry, to the inner gate! Use all ships at the pier for Shiganshina's evacuation! Hurry! They'll eat you!" Armin was there watching, "There are small areas that protrude, like Shiganshina, all around the wall."

"Their purpose is to attract the Titans, thus reducing the cost and manpower of defending the walls. After the people of Shiganshina had fulfilled their function by drawing the Titans to them, they were forced to evacuate by a single gate."

Near the inner walls. "Don't bring anything aboard! We're taking as many people as we can!" The Soldier yells, meanwhile on the boat, Armin's Grandpa looks at Armin who was standing watching.

"Armin, sit." He says as Armin looks at him worried, "But, Eren, Cass and Mikasa aren't here yet..." Armin's Grandpa looks behind, "Ah, they're here!" Armin qucikly looks back but as the twins and Mikasa board the boat, Armin notices that they look petrified.

Armin's Grandpa sighs, "Don't talk to them just now. Poor kids... Going by their appearances, it must have been bad..." He mutters, near Wall Maria. "Why are you just standing there?! Hurry!" The Soldier yells, "Where are those cannon shells?!"

"Hurry! They're right in front of us!" On the boats near the inner wall. "This just can't be happening..." A man mutters in horror, "Oh God... oh God..." A woman mutters as she watches what is happening in front of her.
