*Lars' pov*

I stepped into the Sun Incinerator and spun around to give my last farewell to Beach City with a bright smile on my face. I was prepared to finally get off of Earth again, this time without the horror of nearly being slaughtered multiple times. "Sayonara g-" I quickly stopped as I chocked on my words. "Bye Lars!" Steven waved his arm frantically, trying desperately not to sob before the ship door closes. "Uh... bye Lars.. Steven I really have to get back to work so..."  Peedee pointed behind him and slowly stepped away. "what..?" I was horrified. Sadie didn't come. My friends didn't come. Even my parents failed to be there when I was about to leave the planet, hopefully, forever. Fluorite popped her head out of the engine room "weeeereee r-eaaaaa-dy foooooor takeeeeeofffff, caaaaaptaiiiin!" She yelled out, barely loud enough for me to hear. "Captain-" Rhodonite strode next to me, looking at the screen next to the gateway. "The entrance closes in three.." I began to panic "w-wait! What?- where?-" I glanced at Rhodonite counting. "Two.." "hold on a second! What- where is everyone?!" I questioned Steven, throwing my hands in the air. "One.." "Lars I'm so sorry!." Steven broke into tears as the door slammed shut.

-an hour later-

*Steven's pov*

"Steven? Why are you crying?-" Pearl grabbed a box of tissues and placed it on the couch, next to me. "Nobody.. *hic* came to- came to-" I sniffled. Pearl sat down next to me. "Uh.. there there?" She pat me on the shoulder, then jumped up as Amethyst and Garnet appeared on the warp pad. "GARNET! YOU'RE HERE!" Pearl ran up to her. "I.. live here?." Garnet stepped off of the warp pad. "Can you help Steven please? I'm not good at this stuff and I gotta get to a member of my fan club. She needs me to pass the vandalism paper." She winked and grabbed a roll of toilet paper, strolling out. "What's got you down Steven?" Amethyst popped open a soda and hopped next to Steven on the couch. "NOBODY CAME TO WISH LARS GOODBYE AND IT'S ALL MY FAULT!" I blurted out, grabbing the tissue box and tugging out a couple tissues. "Now Steven, you shouldn't be blaming yourself for such things." Garnet made her way next to the couch. "But.." I mumbled, "It sort of is.. no. Definitely is.. my fault." I blew my nose into a tissue. "And.. how exactly?-" Amethyst interrogated. "I.. uhm.. I accidentally told everyone that Lars was gonna leave yesterday.. and not today.. I got the wrong date.." I rolled over to face the couch cushion. "And now everyone thinks that he ditched Beach City without a word!." I shoved my face into the pillow. "They don't think that Steven. I know they wouldn't.." Garnet passed me a cup of tea. "I hope.."
