{WIP} UWoC: Falcon

The only person in the world with wings, falcon ones specifically. Hiding them her entire life, she can also turn into a falcon.

When aliens came the ray didn't work because she's not human anymore.

She sees a flash of silver in the jungle and investigates perching in a tree.

She doesn't see anything and preens a wing when a dragonet attacks her. She scrambles to fly away screeching in shock until a blaster sounds in the air beside her and goes into a tree. She manages to scratch the membrane of the silver dragonet and fly away in panic.

She later finds that same dragonet climbing a tree unable to fly. She feels bad and gets branches and twigs in the forest and offers them to him, cautiously because at first he shot fire but she placed the stuff on the ground and backed away. The dragonet goes to the ground and sniffs the stuff before using it to wrap his wing. She approaches when the dragonet has difficulty with bandaging and helps with her beak.

They find a hollow in a tree and sleep there together, somepoint during the night the dragonet snuggles up to her warmth and they cuddle.

After a month of knowing each other the dragonet uses mind speak and she reveals human form as well.

They are friends surviving out in the jungle together for many years.

They spy on a Kymari patrol outside the city because their curious. They are spotted and run away to hide in the forest.

One day the dragonet is caught in a trap and the Kymari take him into the city. She finds him being dragged away and follow as he goes to a Kymari house, doesn't yet have backyard netting.

When the Kymari leaves to another room she pecks on the window and they try figure out how to open it. The kymari comes back and shoes her away because he thinks shes trying to attack the dragonet.

She creates a nest in a hollow in a tree in the Kymaris backyard, after a while of them meeting secretly at the window each day, she hunts pests in the backyard for food. Netting is placed over the yard and dragonet is let out for the first time.

The Kymari sits down and reads his tablet as he lets the dragonet explore. The dragonet lets out a call and falcon answers and they dance together in the air, reunited. The Kymari was about to shoot her until he saw they were playing.

{MC POV}

My feathered ears twitch up in alarm as screams are dragged over from the nearby town. Normally I don't go near human towns but this time I make an exception. Transforming into my falcon form I speed through the forest, dodging and weaving through the branches before coming to a stop at an empty crater.

I spot a few people running into the trees, they stop beneath me gasping for breath. Before they even get a chance to speak however a fierce green light shines over everyone, myself included. Their bodies deform into piles of fleshy pink goo. I shriek in alarm taking to the skies once more, narrowly dodged a massive UFO in the process.

The massive ship's lights blink ominously before glowing bright again and sending down that same beam of light to liquify more humans. Glancing behind the ship I see an entire fleet massacring the poor villagers below. I remember the townsfolk giving me the occasional rat or mouse a few years ago. Although I never stayed around long enough to grow close with anyone I couldn't help but mourn the loss, it's not like they were bad people.

I let out another screech as lasers start shooting into the air around me. I pump my wings as hard as I can to reach the safety of the trees. Settling into a small hollow I look back and short, grey skinned aliens marching down the streets, killing off any remaining stragglers. They're holding the guns that were just shooting at me moments ago.

Seeing them start to pick off more birds in the sky I decide it's a good time to vacate the area. I beat my wings and weave through the trees back to my nest. A rainbow of moving creatures makes me halt my pace and perch on a branch. Dozens of tiny, flying reptiles fly overhead fleeing from the UFOs. I wait for few minutes after they're out of sight as I don't want to risk being picked off by any introduced aliens this early. Only once I finish counting to one hundred for the second time do I fly back to my nest hidden away in a tree hollow.
