sleep to quite the thoughts
to stop the feeling
of sadness

to not have to distract your mind with foolish things,
to not have to find some other way to sh

so you forget how you feel
forget the inner hurt
& how pathetic you are
sleep
to stop the yelling in my mind
the urge to pound my fist into my head
to feel alright.
I wish I was okay.
