July 18

The sun shines brightly in the light blue sky as I walk out of my house and along the street past some of the neighboring houses. Rafe and I have planned to do something today; however, since we still can't meet openly and do it secretly, we've decided to meet a few houses down along our street.

Rafe is already waiting for me when I arrive. He gives me a small smile as I approach, leaning in to give me a quick kiss on the lips, which makes me smile even more. All these little gestures he does mean so much to me, and I love it.

We're going to dine at a restaurant tonight. A very nice one that Rafe has talked about wanting to take me to. I have no idea what kind of restaurant it is because I've never been there, but it sounds good.

"You look great," Rafe says as we start walking along the street.

"Thank you, you too," I say, smiling. I'm wearing a light blue short dress with a pair of sandals since it's way too hot for any regular shoes. I also have a matching handbag to complete my outfit. Rafe is wearing a light gray polo shirt and white linen pants, and I must say he looks very good in his outfit.

"Do you think we'll be able to continue hanging out like this for the rest of the summer without anyone catching us? I mean, our friends already know that we still hang out; what if one of them snitches to our dads?" I say somewhat anxiously.

"Don't worry, nothing will happen. I'll make sure we get to see each other despite everything that's going on," Rafe says, trying to calm me down a bit.

"But seriously, how do you think it will be when we start college? Do you think we'll keep in touch?" I ask.

"Of course we will," Rafe says, smiling at me. "We'll make sure to come home for Christmas so we can see each other then."

"Yeah," I say, feeling a bit calmer again. I never thought I would appreciate spending time with Rafe.

"Here it is," Rafe says, nodding towards the building in front of us, which is a very luxurious Italian restaurant that looks very nice and upscale, just as he said. We enter the restaurant and are greeted by a waiter who smiles warmly at us.

"Welcome. Do you have a reservation?" the waiter asks.

"Yes, under the name Cameron," Rafe says.

"Okay, then follow me this way," the waiter says, leading me and Rafe towards some tables a bit further away with a beautiful view of the sea.

"Just let me know if you need anything," the waiter says, smiling before leaving us.

I sit across from Rafe before taking out the menu to see what I should order. Everything on the menu is very expensive, but I should be able to afford most of it anyway. My dad hasn't put any money on my card for a very long time, and I don't know why, but he does that sometimes. Hopefully, my mom will do it soon anyway.

"May I take your order?" asks another waiter who is blonde and young. He smiles at us.

"Yes, of course," says Rafe, nodding at me to start.

"Pasta Bolognese, please," I say. The waiter nods and writes it down on his notepad before turning to Rafe.

"Mozzarella pizza, please," says Rafe, "and a glass of red wine for both of us."

"Okay, coming right up," says the waiter before leaving us.

"You ordered wine for both of us?" I say. I don't usually drink wine often, only on special occasions like family gatherings when my mom wants me to be a bit fancy even though I'm too young to drink.
