"They both got a lot in common."

The past four days were quite torturing and not to be forgotten, also boring. Speaking of which, I never thought of my dad's reaction about the letter. He did nothing but just gave me a few hundred bucks. He also came home late lately and there is this mysterious girl I saw two mornings ago in my dad's car. Does he has a new girlfriend? – my mother died a couple of years ago – or maybe it's just me?

I heard few knocks on the white large door, shooking off my thoughts I slowly open the door. Revealing Karen in her black leather jacket and a helmet on her hand.

"Seriously? No way." I leaned on the other unopened door.

"Come on! It has been a long time, and I think you got an invitation tonight in Midwest street." She said shrugging her shoulders. "So, what do you say?" A smirk plastered on her plumpy reddish lips.

I quickly grab my black with tints of shocking pink 'Jansport' backpack running to my garage. Quite massive dusts float as I open the garage, and well, a black motorcycle beautifully parked inside.

A laugh escaped my mouth and there she is, a very pissed off best friend of mine – Karen – because apparently I just beat her on a race she made herself. I took off my helmet getting a whistles from the school's jocks, which I carelessly ignore them.

A high pitch voice annoyingly mocked, "Oh my God! I think I deserve those whistles more than her. Am I right girls?" Brittany over dramatically flip her fake blonde hair.

"Of course!" The two moron slayers, Jennet and Hannah, cheered followed with somehow annoying girly laugh.

"Y–" A full silence filled the air shutting me up.

Everyone's eyes are locked on the Brand new white Mercedes Benz sport car that's just arrived. One of the door creaked open, Ryder coming out of it followed with…one strange girl.

"Mind to explain?" I whispered to Karen.

"Er..a new nerd and cliché stuffs?" She grinned but a glimpse of disappointment appears in her eyes.

"Including hooking up with the school's badboy? Too cliché."

I leave the parking lot immediately, because honestly I hate the school drama. Plus, this one is a badboy and a nerd happily ever after. Easily predictable though. Am I right? Right. Great, now I sound like Brittany.

Finally the bell rings! Goodbye lame school stuffs. The hallway is filled with silence, again, like this morning in the parking lot. Ugh, I don't think I could handle this anymore if it will happen everyday. Well, this one is worth to see. Ryder is making out with the new nerd that I just found out her name, Lucy Carowsky, such a sweetheart name yeah.

"Isn't it too early?" I nudge no one other than Karen who's beside me.

"Are you in the mood for ice cream?" She asked ignoring my previous questioning.

I raised an eyebrow, "full milk?"

"Full milk."

Before anyone could get out of the hall, we both walk quickly getting weird stares from almost everyone leaving the make out scene. I turn my head for one last look but my eyes catches a sort of evilly smirk from no one than other Lucy.

For the past few hours, Karen has been crying her heart out while all I could focus on is the huge question mark on my brain about that evilly smirk. And also reminding me of the mysterious girl that I assumed as my dad's girlfriend. There's a lot of common between Lucy and the mysterious girl, they both got pointy nose, tanned skin, long wavy brunette hair and I think they both got the same blue eyes.

Lucy is my dad's girlfriend?

Woah you brain back there, no way. My dad isn't that type of guy.

They both got a lot in common.

But..no. It could be her mother. Her mother? Wait what?

"Valerie Xaveria Collins, are you there?"

"Huh? Oh. Can we go now? I'm not in the mood for ice creams anymore. And I think I'm in for the race." I said standing up relaxing my butts' nerves.

An unexpected person was standing outside the ice cream parlor. The guy I never thought I would meet again, not even a second to think about it. Like seriously after this whole 3 years leaving without any notes, information or text or whatever.

"What are you doing here, Luke?" I asked him furiously.

"I–" He scratched the back of his neck, a gesture when he is nervous. "I just want to apologize for leaving. I know we were about to start everything but–"

I sighed, "save it. I'm gonna get going now, goodbye."

"After one friendly race, please?" He widen his eyes making a very cute puppy look, too hard to resist.

"Don't cry your ass off if I impurposely beat you in the race."
