𝐂𝐄𝐀𝐙𝐈𝐀'𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐕:
It was a lazy Saturday, and I found myself at home, re-watching the Scream series. As I watched the movie, I couldn't help but talk to myself, "She's so dumb for entering that room." My attention was abruptly interrupted by my mother, who entered the room holding an envelope. "Hey, Mom, what's that?" I asked, pausing the movie. She placed the envelope on the shelf, and I noticed a look of concern on her face. "Your sister, Aniyah, needs some money. She's getting married next week," she signed to me. I was thrilled for her, and my eyes widened with excitement. "Are we going to see her?" I asked eagerly. However, my mom's response was not what I was hoping for. "No," she signed with a sigh. "I'm afraid that we'll embarrass her." Her words hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't help but feel disappointed. It made me realize the state that we are in.

I nodded as my mother finished explaining the situation to me. "How are you going to send it to America?" I asked her. "I'm planning to mail it to her, but I'm scared that won't be the safest way," she replied in sign language. I thought before asking, "How much is it?" My mother showed me the money. It was $8,500. My eyes widened in surprise. "You saved all this for her?" I asked, amazed. My mother nodded. Suddenly, an idea came to me. "Let me bring it to her. Please?" I asked her, hopeful. My mother hesitated for a moment before nodding. I couldn't contain my excitement and hugged her tightly. "Thank you. I'll pack up right now," I said. My mother rubbed my back and smiled. I sat in front of my empty suitcase and began packing my clothes, shoes, and other belongings. As I packed, my mother watched me and said, "Don't forget the envelope." "I won't," I replied, smiling. I carefully placed the envelope in my suitcase, making sure it was well hidden and secure. I was determined to deliver it safely to my sister in America.

As I carefully zipped up my suitcase, my mother sifted through the shelves. Suddenly, she pulled out a flight ticket to Los Angeles and handed it to me while signing, "I knew this day would come, so here." I couldn't help but grin with excitement as I gently placed the ticket on the table, ready for tomorrow's adventure. With my suitcase in hand, I made my way to the door, but not before grabbing my cozy mattress. The anticipation of what tomorrow would bring made it hard to fall asleep, but eventually, exhaustion took over. As I lay on my bed, I whispered, "Goodnight Mom, love you." My mother smiled and turned off the lights

As I stand in front of the mirror, I gaze at my reflection and admire my newly assembled flight outfit. I am wearing a pair of cozy dark grey sweatpants that are perfect for long journeys. On top, I have an oversized dark blue sweatshirt. The soft fabric of the sweatshirt feels comfortable against my skin. I have paired my outfit with white socks and dark blue Crocs that make me feel both stylish and relaxed. I have let my hair down and put on my favorite small earrings that complement my outfit perfectly. As I look at my reflection, I notice that my lips look a bit chapped, so I quickly apply some Vaseline to keep them moisturized.

My mom had already left for work, but before leaving, she left a sweet note for me with a message that reads "Call me as soon as you arrive there." along with some hearts drawn on it. With a grin, I strolled towards the front door, my trusty suitcase in tow. After turning the key in the lock and hearing it click, I stepped out into the cool morning air and closed the door behind me. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm glow over the quiet street. As I approached the airport, I breathed in the fresh scent of morning dew.

I found myself sitting in the bustling airport waiting room, surrounded by a sea of people, each with their own stories and destinations. The hum of conversations and sounds of footsteps echoed in my ears as I waited for my flight to be announced. Suddenly, a voice over the intercom announced, "The Los Angeles flight is now here." I quickly gathered my belongings and made my way towards the airplane. As I walked down the aisle, I noticed the overhead compartments filling up with bags and the cabin crew readying the plane for takeoff. I finally found my seat and settled in for the long flight ahead. I put on my small noise-canceling headphones and hit play on my playlist, choosing 'Right My Wrongs' by Bryson Tiller. The soft beats and soothing vocals of the song immediately transported me to a place of calm.
