The rain was pouring down as a girl walks into the school building in her high socks and brand-new shoes. A tinkling sound followed her footsteps, coming from the two tiny cherry-shaped ornaments dangling off her bunny keyring. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail, highlighting her naturally rosy cheeks and her uniform tucked under her skirt, looking prim and proper. Anyone that looks at her would assume the typical model student she is.

She headed straight towards the teachers' office and knocked on the slightly opened door. "Excuse me," she said as she propped her head into the room, welcoming the view of teachers busily preparing to start the day and a few students speaking to some of the teachers.

"Ah, Jang Wonyoung, is it?" A man in his 50s stood up upon seeing her, dropping off whatever activity he was doing.

"Yes, sir. I came here to pick up my name tag."

"Right...," he trailed off as he searched the pack of name tags that he had prepared before it was jumbled between the messy papers on his desk. "Please, come in."

Wonyoung excused herself to the other teachers before walking towards his desk. Whilst waiting for the teacher, she can feel the other students looking at her, seemingly interested in her presence.

"Oh, here it is. Make sure to wear it all the time while you're at school, okay?" The teacher handed the name tags to her and looked at her information file. "Okay, sir," she said as she looked at the name tag she received.

Jang Wonyoung.

She pinned her name tag on her uniform, her heart started drumming from nervosity and excitement at the thought of starting her high school life.

"Alright, Jang Wonyoung, you're assigned to Class 1-3 this year, which is located a floor above us. I'm Mr. Cheon, your homeroom teacher for this school year," he gave her a warm fatherly smile as he handed her the class schedules.

"Thank you, sir-- "

"Sorry for taking so long, Mr. Cheon! I heard you called for me?" A boy panted, his dimples peeking as he tried to regain his composure after running towards the office.

Mr. Cheon nodded at him before introducing him to Wonyoung. "Yes, Jungwon, this is Jang Wonyoung, a new student who will be joining our class starting from today."

Jungwon's cat-like eyes widened at the introduction. "Oh right! Sorry sir, I forgot," he said, looking a bit guilty for forgetting about the important task he was notified about the day before. He sheepishly smiled at Mr. Cheon before turning to face Wonyoung. "Hello, Wonyoung! I'm Yang Jungwon, the class president of Class 1-3," he introduced himself as he lent his hand out for a handshake.

Wonyoung smiled back and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you, Jungwon. I'm Jang Wonyoung."

After their brief introduction, both of their attention was brought back to the teacher standing before them. "Wonyoung, I know that you started a month late in this school, but looking at your past school records, I'm sure you can catch up with the lessons and adapt to the school life here easily," the older man smiled before continuing, "But if there is anything, you can always consult me. Jungwon will also assist you in your difficulties." Hearing that, Jungwon gave her a reassuring smile and a thumbs up, displaying his dependable personality.

Wonyoung gave a courtesy smile to both of them. "Thank you."

"Alright, you both should go now. Jungwon will show you to your class." Mr. Cheon shooed the two out of the room and went back to what he was working on.

Walking out of the office, Wonyoung found herself walking in silence while Jungwon introduced her surroundings to her. Her eyes wandered to the unfamiliar interior and her excitement grew bigger, enveloping the nervosity she felt earlier. It took them a few minutes to reach their classroom and the first class had nearly started.
