Percy POV:

Look, I never asked to be an 'outcast'.

But apparently that's what the gods had in store for me.

So.... here we are. Another fabulous day in Goode high school.

Now I know what you're thinking; 'Percy, it's only highschool. How bad could it be? Wait... nevermind'.

Exactly, my friend. Exactly. But enough of that, not just because I think I'm crazy for talking to myself like this, but because I've reached my locker. Riiiiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhhtttt next to the locker of Annabeth Chase.

She's your 'not so stereotypical popular kid'. Y'know with the whole actually being a decent human being to most people part. Unfortunately, I am not most people. In more ways than one.

I walked up to my locker only to be greeted with a glare from ms.blonde over here. I glared back and opened my locker to gather my books for my next class. She seemed irritated at the fact that I barely reacted to her 'warm welcome'. And yes I know I've been using air quotes a lot, but I'm allowed to! They're my thoughts! Anyway, I closed my locker only to once again be met with a glare, only it seemed a little harsher this time. I sighed and attempted to walk right past her, my next class was just a little further down the hall. She moved in front of me, intentionally blocking my path and still glaring at me with those fierce grey eyes.

I sighed and unwillingly made eye contact with her, attempting to match the amount of hatred in her eyes within my own. It's safe to say, my attempt failed miserably and all it got me was a sneer from the girl who was still blocking my path.

'Can I help you?' I asked, trying to put a false sense of sweetness to my usually bland voice.

'I don't know, can you?' she retorted, bitterly and hatefully.

'Look...' I started, 'I don't know what your problem with me is, but I'm just trying not to be late to class for once in my Ze-' I stopped abruptly. I was already bullied enough I didn't need to be teased even more due to my weird ancient greek-based sayings,'-God forsaken life, so I would appreciate it if you let me walk down the hall without having to hit a girl at 9:00 in the morning.'

This only added more fury to her eyes. 'I don't know who you think you are to talk to me like that, but let me tell you, you're not going to just get away with that snide remark'

She started walking towards me, looking ready to throw a punch. I was too tired for this, so I just braced myself, closing my eyes, and hoped that she wouldn't punch me too hard.

But the punch never came. I opened my eyes to find my cousins, Thalia and Nico, standing in front of me. Thalia didn't usually talk to me, so it was surprising to see her step in when she saw Annabeth coming towards me. Nico, I understood a bit more why he might try to protect me (we were much closer than me and Thalia or him and Thalia were) , though he was never really one for heroics.

'Annabeth had stopped right in her tracks, and now stood with her arms crossed and slightly leaned to the side, a skeptical look now on her face.

'Really Thalia, you're protecting this weirdo?'

'Cut it out Annabeth, he's my cousin. And it's not very polite to beat up your friends family, is it?

Nico only stood there, glaring at Annabeth as if he wished he could kill her with his eyes. He glanced back at me and shifted himself so that he was now facing me completely.

'Come on, Percy. We have Latin together.' he said, with his usual cold voice, though it always sounded a bit warmer when he spoke to me and Will (his boyfriend).

We walked past Annabeth, who was now staring daggers right into me, although I just tried to shake it off. Nico and I walked into the classroom and I decided to glace outside one more time before the door shut, only to find her with her back turned and walking down the hall.
