To Lorena, Elliot took priority over all else. His confident and self-assured smile that often led her into trouble, would need to come in second.

Her eyes did not meet his as she entered the classroom again, eyes still likely red and hands itching to do something.

"You good?" There was worry hidden in the crease of his eyebrows, but comfort in his smile. His blond dyed hair had grown out shaggy and his natural brown roots blended into it well. Lorena had constantly shit on his messy curls and outgrown hair, but only she knew the way her fingers itched to brush his bangs back.

She was "fine," she said. The chair scraped against the floor beneath her as she pulled it out.

His grin did not hide the worry in his brown eyes. His very very brown eyes. Which she did her best to avoid.
