Elliot was pretty. He knew that. His pretty ex girlfriends knew that, the pretty girls he was talking to knew that. And so did Lorena.
The scar over His lip was pretty. She was there when he got it. Trying and failing to do a trick on his bike when they were ten landed him with a chipped tooth and busted lip. He cried as they sat on the curb. And that night Lorena begged her mom for ice cream money to share with him.
He broke his nose a couple years later, trying another trick. She hadn't been there when it happened but two days later Elliot was at her doorstep with a dark under eyes and bandages talking nonstop about how many pretty girls texted him after asking if he was okay.
Lorena knew Elliot was pretty and the girls he liked were pretty too.
