"Wake up, sleepy head!" a voice called from above me.
I opened my eyes to see Odir looking down at me, his smirk plastered on his face.
"Finally sleeping in class, yeah?" he asked, poking me with his finger.
I laughed, and pushed his finger away. I got up from my desk and stretched, yawning. Odir put his finger in my mouth as I was yawning, and I quickly shut my mouth, gagging.
"What the-" I trailed off, rubbing my tongue with my finger, trying to get rid of that lingering taste of saltiness.
Odir chuckled and wiggled his eyebrows.
"Class ended," he said, walking to his desk and grabbing his backpack.
I rushed after him, smacking his head as I ran past him to the door.
"You're not getting away with this!" shouted Odir, running behind me.
I could hear his heavy footsteps, and once I reached the door, my body was yanked into the room.
I screamed, "This isn't fair! We were even!" I tried to pull away from Odir, but he had a strong grip on me.
"Love birds!" coughed a voice from behind us.
I turned around and saw Derek, smiling, holding out his phone.
"Are you taking a photo of us?" I practically yelled, grabbing for his phone. Derek darted out of the room, and I tried to run after him, but Odir was still gripping on to my backpack. With a huff, I took off my backpack and ran after Derek.
"Get back here DEREK!" I shouted as I chased him down the hallway. People parted ways for us, as we ran full speed around the school.
Derek was running towards the hall, laughing hysterically when someone dropped their books from their locker. Derek tripped on the books and fell loudly on the floor. I caught up to him, and knelt down on one knee, examining him closely.
"Are you okay?" I panted, out of breath from my sprinting.
Derek nodded, and he winced trying to get up. "Probably just a bruise," he said, rubbing his elbows.
"And... that's what you get for taking unconsented photos," I said sarcastically, crossing my arms over my chest.
"You guys alright?" asked Odir, as he jogged towards us.
"Yeah, I'm fine, but I don't think Derek is doing so good." I responded, getting up from the floor.
The world started to spin around me, figures and lockers swirled around me, and the floor beneath me was curved. Then, everything stopped, and I looked around me. Derek was still lying on the floor, and Odir had one of his hands reaching out to Derek. People were standing still in front of their lockers, and the leaf outside was floating in mid-air.
I got pulled back, as I started to float to the ceiling. As I braced for impact, I felt nothing and saw the school building get smaller and smaller below my feet. I kept drifting off into the sky, passing clouds and airplanes, all stopped in time. I started to panic as I reached the outer atmosphere of Earth. I held my breath as long as I could, and after a few moments, I opened my mouth to gasp for air. Surprisingly, I could breathe in space. The vast blackness surrounded me and little white stars were sprinkled across the darkness.
The white lights from the stars began to turn black one followed by another, as darkness began to envelop me.
I opened my eyes. A large fan was turning on the gray ceiling, and the strips of white light blinded me. I turned my head to the side, and saw the same old stone floor in front of me. I sat up on the ground and saw that my ankles weren't shackled to the ground like yesterday.
