The Demon Brothers' Little Sister (Obey Me fanfic)

Chapter 2

     "Here! Pass me the ball!!! Oh shit."

     The ball froze into an ice ball, causing coldness to creep all over Jade's hand and making her drop the ball. The captain of the opponent team, Maya, took the ball and led the game. You skated across the ice ring, hoping that you could seize the ball as Maya passed it to her teammate. You jumped but the ball was too high for you to reach. The opponent's shooter aimed for the hoop and scored. You were just about to plan your next move when your coach blew the weasel. You're a little disappointed that your team only lost by one point.

     "Alright, girls. Today's training is over. Overall, Team A was good but Maya, I want you to communicate more. You have the potential to become the team captain. And Team B, you did a good job too, but Jade, I want you to pass the ball faster. Always remember, frostball is a fast game, you hold the ball for more than three seconds, and the ball will turn into ice, " Coach Pete commented on your game just now, full of enthusiasm and determination.

     "Everyone may dismiss," he declared, but you came to him.

     "Coach, about the next tournament, will I still be the captain? I'm asking because you said Maya has the potential to replace me, " you have to ask because you don't want to lose your position to a newbie.

     "Firstly, I didn't say she will 'replace' you. However, I did see the potential in her. She might have trained with her brother, Damian. He's the best shooter we ever have in the boy's frostball team," Coach Pete explained to you.

     "I want to have a rematch for today's friendly game. And then you choose who's the better captain." he agreed with your suggestion. You got out of the ice rink and took off your skates before drinking a few gulps of water. Suddenly, you saw Beel coming to the ice rink, it seemed like he just finished his Fangol training.

     On your way home, you and Beel decided to stop at your favourite ice cream shop. You ordered a chocolate cake ice cream taco while Beel ordered six different flavours of ice cream in a big waffle bowl.

     The moment you were not looking forward to finally arrived. Lucifer insisted on doing one subject a day, so tonight everyone gathered in the common room with their curses and hexes textbook.

     "Alright, it's simple. You study and if you find anything that you do not understand, do ask any of us who know. Got it?" Lucifer said as he looked directly at Mammon, trying to warn him to not misbehave tonight.

     "One more thing, (y/n) and Mammon can't sit side by side. (y/n) will switch with Levi."

     You switched your seat and now sitting right beside Lucifer. You just thought you could take a nap while he is not looking but now all that plan can go to hell. You're okay with this subject, but there are a few things that you need to revise. Yet, your eyes grew heavier each second. You were tired after the frostball training that evening.

     I'll close my eyes just for a few seconds. He won't notice.

      "(y/n) . Who said you can sleep?" Lucifer's gaze softened despite the strictness in his voice. He knew you were exhausted but he also wanted you to improve academically.

      "You study for another 10 minutes and I'll let you go to bed."

     You nodded and continued flipping through the textbook. You found a hex that you had been struggling with and decided to ask Satan to teach you.

     "With that sleepy face of yours, I don't think you will understand anything," Satan refused to teach you. You saw a mint candy in your pencil box and ate it. "I feel less sleepy now. Can you teach me, please...I want to get a high score like you too. "

     "Now that you've shown me your effort, I'll teach you," he took your textbook and gave it a read before starting to teach you. You listened carefully and tried to absorb as much information as possible before you felt sleepy again. You yawned but quickly covered your mouth with your hand to not offend Satan.

     "That's all about this topic. Got any questions? "

      You shook your head, "Nope. Thanks, Satan. "

     You turned to face Lucifer. "Can I go to sleep now?" you gave the cutest face you could ever do. "Alright, but before that, tell me what you learned from Satan, " he asked to confirm that his little sister had studied something. "I learned about confusion hex. It's very useful in a fight cause it messes with your opponent's brain, thus making them confused about what's going on," you explained to him.

     "You passed." You can feel Lucifer's pact mark on the topmost part of your spine glow. Both of you can also see your pact mark on his wrist glow, which symbolizes the connection of pride between you two. Lucifer touched your pact mark and then gave you a head pat. He knew you're a sucker for head pats, especially his. "Thanks, love ya, " you kissed him on the cheek before going to bed, a privilege only you have.

     Before sleep, you called your friend, Jade. "Hey, I asked Coach Pete for a rematch for today's game so that he can choose who's the team captain for the upcoming tournament. Let's do a little ball-passing training tomorrow."

      "You're worried Maya going to replace you, are you?"

     "Maybe... Just meet me at the ice rink tomorrow, okay?"

     "Sure. Whatever you say, captain."
