Mineta's Redemption

Chapter Four: Trouble in Town

Four days have passed since the workout Mineta did with Kirishima and people at Mt. Lady's agency took notice again of his behavior. This time, however, instead of being withdrawn and feeling sorry for himself, his aura suggested one of dependency and being positive. They still had their suspicions of an ulterior motive of course, but maybe, just maybe, he'd finally turned a corner and would start behaving himself.

He and Kaminari were out doing another patrol for the past few hours but hadn't seen much action yet so they began reminiscing about life in general.

"So Mineta, word around the office is that everyone senses a change in you from the last couple weeks. I can see it myself too! You haven't been anywhere near as obsessed with the subject of girls, and your work quality has improved too! Are we just imagining it or have you really turned over a new leaf?"

"I suppose you could say that. I still want hot babes, make no mistake, and I haven't thrown away my magazines, but I've finally realized at least that openly lusting after girls will get me nowhere. I've also started to consciously behave myself more around the ladies especially at school. If my reputation is ever going to improve, that's where I need to focus the most.

"What's more, I got a note in my locker that claims to be from a girl! I have my suspicions that it could be a prank after everything I've done, but this is the first time it's ever happened to me before!"

"Way to go dude! Maybe this is the opportunity you've been waiting for! What did the note say?" asked Kaminari.

"It said she noticed me work out lately and saw me interact with Kirishima and admired me for striving to be better and she hopes I keep it up!"

"I don't think it's a prank if that's all it says! Take that as a sign you're moving in the right direction buddy! Who do you think it is that sent that?"

"Well, she signed her name as a girl from class 1B. She apparently wants to stay anonymous for now, but last I checked all the girls in that class hated me as much as the 1A girls. I guess I'll just have to find out later and keep doing what I'm doing."

BOOM!!

About a mile away a huge explosion went off and average citizens could be seen from afar trying to flee the scene. Mineta and Kaminari also happened to spot some familiar faces from 1B no less. As they got closer they realized that it was Itsuka Kendo fighting along side Reiko Yanagi. They were doing their best to hold their ground, but looked as though they could use some backup

"Let's go Mineta! Time to put our training to the test!" 

"Right!"

As they arrived at the scene, the villain they fought against was a woman seemed to be shape shifting into animals and took on the behaviors of whatever animal she chose. The two 1B girls were trying to hang tough with their enlarged arms and poltergeist moves, but was proving to not be enough to stop their combatant. The enemy charged at them and clawed them up just before the two of them arrived on the scene.

Mineta in desperation started throwing sticky balls as much as he could and before the attacker knew it, she had too much trouble moving to be able to mount a counter attack. Kaminari then moved in to shoot her with one of his lightning strikes and knock her out. Once that was taken care of, they began to check on Yanagi and Kendo. "Are you two ok? What happened here?" Asked Kaminari. "Thanks for the help. We were on a patrol of our own and were blindsided by that attacker." Said Yanagi.

Kendo suddenly realized who came to their rescue. "Oh...it's you. Let me guess Mineta, you're hoping that the two of us are just gonna magically join your fantasy harem now right?"

Minoru started blushing both out of lust and also embarrassment. "Ugh, well...um...come on! I'm trying not to be like that anymore!"

"Yeah whatever, I saw you drool over all of us at that beauty pageant. Once a pervert! Always a pervert! You haven't changed! Your delayed reaction a minute ago says it all!"

Mineta started looking down at the ground in defeat. Even when he does the right thing he can't win with the ladies. "Fine. If that's what you think I'll just be on my way then. Goodbye everyone." He starts slow walking away and doesn't look back. In a last ditch effort Kaminari tries to cheer him up.

"Look buddy, don't listen to her. You may have dug quite a ditch with the school's girls but just give it time."

"Please Kaminari, you're not helping. I just need to be alone right now." He says as he starts tearing up. "Good looking guys like you are always easier to forgive."

Denki glared at the two girls for a minute after Mineta is out of their site. "Nice going. That's gratitude for you! He really has tried to be better lately you know!" Kaminari also starts walking away as Kendo has a look of remorse. Yanagi also felt bad for him and resolved to do something about this as soon as she returned to the dorms.

Later that night she went into the 1A dorms and asked around the other ladies where she could find Mineta's dorm. The girls each looked at her with shock in their eyes. "Uh, you know who Mineta is right??" Asked Ashido. "Yes, and I wanted to thank him because he helped assist us against a villain when Kendo and I were in trouble and didn't get a chance to express my gratitude to him." Each 1A girl present suddenly had a look of surprise on their face. "Wait, he actually did something noble for once?! And didn't act pervy around you afterwards or anything!?" "Yes, it's the truth. Will you show me where his dorm is?" Mina sighed. "Okay, well, if you really want to risk it, just go down that hall and take the elevator to the second floor and you'll see his name on the door nearby, but don't say we didn't warn you." "I'll be fine, and thanks for the directions."

She takes the elevator as instructed and sees his door. She knocks on it but no one answers. She takes a minute to knock again but still doesn't answer. "Hmm...I guess he must be out training or something." She walks away and is about to get back in the elevator when suddenly she hears him open his door. He looked half asleep but then his eyes bulged in shock when he realized who'd tried to visit him.

"Oh hey, it's you from earlier. Let me guess, you came to chastise me for being a pervert some more?" asked Mineta skeptically.

"Actually, I wanted to say I'm sorry that Kendo wasn't very nice to you earlier. And also thank you for helping us against that villain."

"You're welcome. But is that it? You seem to really be going out of your way to tell me that."

"Good point. The truth is I didn't come just for that. I also felt it was time I tell you this: I'm the one that left that note in your locker for you the other day."
