Mineta's Redemption

Chapter Seven: Reflections

Two weeks have passed since Mineta and Yanagi admitted their feelings to one another and it's been a dream come true. Never in a million years did Minoru think things would turn around for him so quickly after deciding to seriously change and diminish the pervert act.

The two of them have spent a lot of time together and many whisperings around campus have left the student body wondering if they've become more than just friends, though they've neither confirmed nor denied it as yet. If they aren't working out in the gym or the training fields, they continue to brush off their gaming hobby together and challenging one another to get better at that too.

However, with all that has been going well for him, the pain of his past actions have started to trouble him inside. He wants to do something to stop the pain but he isn't sure what.

I feel like I need to do one last thing. I have so many good things going for me and yet if I want to keep it going then I feel the need to make amends. He thinks to himself. So at the beginning of their next day of class, Mineta asks Iida and Aizawa to give him a few minutes to speak at the beginning of class.

"Look, I needed to say something to the class but especially to the ladies. I've been the bane of your existence since we started attending UA together. I've constantly lusted, peeped, and harassed each of you to some extent. Most of that time I haven't felt any remorse about it at all, just frustration at being rejected and an unending desire to keep satisfying my lust.

"I still have a long way to go, and I still have plenty of dirty thoughts go through my head, but I've at least learned to put them in check a little bit. But that's not enough. I've trespassed against each of you quite a few times and it's time to formally apologize for that. I'm sorry. I hope you'll find it in you to forgive me for what I've done. If there's something more than an apology you need, please let me know, and I'll do my best to make amends, but I promise that from now on I'll never harass either of you the way I have in the past."

The whole class sat their stunned for several seconds, but when it sunk in that he was being serious, and that his behavior of late convinces them that he really means it, a small applause broke out amongst the class. Kaminari gave him a thumbs up and Kirishima held up his fist in the air towards Mineta. Mina Ashido suddenly spoke a request for him.

"Okay Mineta, if you really mean what you say, and since I'm the most recent person to have been groped by you, answer me this to help make up for it: what's going on between you and Reiko Yanagi from 1B? Spill the beans! We want to hear!" She says with a voice mixed with skepticism and excitement.

Mineta snickers. "Heh...I guess now's a good a time as any to say it. She and I started dating recently. If you don't believe me, go ask her too!"

The girls dropped their jaws and the guys were almost equally shocked.

"Ok that's enough of this. Mineta, thank you but you're done now. Let's get going with the lecture for the day." Aizawa said deadpanning.

EPILOGUE

It's been fifteen years since Mineta graduated from UA high school. He, Kaminari, Jiro, and Yanagi teamed up to start their own hero agency and have had plenty of work to keep them occupied. In a typical morning like this, he wishes he could just sleep in a little longer but excited children have different ideas.

"Daddy! Daddy! Wake up! It's time for breakfast!"

Mineta rolled over and then rolled back to see the face of his bright eyed daughter wanting to grab his arm and lead him to the table. "Mom has been helping me practice making pancakes. Will you come and try them for me? I even put some of my fruit snack gummies in them to sweeten it!" She says with starry eyes.

"Sure Casper, I'll be right down." he says as he gets up from his bed.

As beat up and worn out as he feels when he first wakes up, his daughter's smile is the perfect thing for him to wake up to. She was gifted with a quirk that would allow her to grow purple ghost shaped fruit snacks from her fingers as sort of a cross between his quirk and Yanagi's. She has little interest in hero work herself but is slowly cultivating a taste for culinary arts.

All these years later, he's more protective of her and his wife than ever. He knows exactly what goes through guy's heads because it never stopped for him either. As much as he still fawns over attractive women in spite of being so protective of his wife and daughter, Yanagi doesn't think much of it because it never goes any further than looking for a minute or two and that's the end of it, albeit she does roll her eyes about it occasionally. They've learned to take it one day at a time and by so doing achieved a good balance of family and work life.

He checks in with his classmates every now and then and he's well aware of the success they've garnered, especially Deku. By every metric his life as a hero is a very average one. He's nowhere near as popular or rich as they are, but he's fine with it because at the end of the day, protecting innocent people is what matters most and he realizes that now. When he first began his journey to become a hero, he wanted a harem to surround him but he has something far better now: a family that truly loves him.

There was a few more things I wanted to do with this story but I've become too busy in life with work and other things. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed reading it anyway!
