Chapter 3 - Unexpected Encounters at Foxwoods

On Sunday, August 19, 2018, Breanna's day started bright and early at 7:30 am. Excitement bubbled within her as she anticipated the upcoming trip to Foxwoods later in the day. Unable to contain her enthusiasm, she reached for her phone to check the time and indulge in some morning browsing. Around 10 am, Breanna began packing, ensuring that both she and her 17-year-old brother had everything they needed for their Foxwoods adventure. As she organized their belongings, her anticipation grew, eager for the fun and relaxation that awaited them. 

After finishing packing for Foxwoods later that night, Breanna took some time to relax and unwind by checking her social media accounts on her phone. Breanna's day was full of activity and excitement as she prepared for their trip to Foxwoods. At 12:00 pm, her dad arrived to pick up Breanna and her 17-year-old brother. They then made a detour to South Kingstown, RI, to pick up Jake at 12:45 pm. Afterward, around 1:10 pm, they reached Breanna's dad's house in Hope Valley, RI. They spent some time there, possibly catching up or getting ready for the evening's adventure. Breanna, her dad, 17-year-old brother, and 6-year-old brother all gathered in the car at 3:30 pm, ready for their journey to Foxwoods.

Breanna and her family arrived at Fox Tower at 4:00 pm to check into their room. After checking in at Fox Tower, Breanna and her family headed to their room, taking the elevator up to their accommodation. Excitement buzzed as they unpacked their belongings. Eager to make the most of their time at the resort, Breanna and her family decided to head to the pool at Great Cedar. After enjoying a refreshing time at the pool, Breanna and her family decided to head back to their hotel room around 5:30 pm. They changed back into their clothes, ready to embark on the next part of their adventure at Foxwoods.

After changing back into their clothes, Breanna and her family left the hotel room. Breanna's younger brother, Jake, eagerly asked their dad if he could visit the candy store at Fox Tower, to which their dad replied, "Eat it after dinner." With that settled, Breanna and Jake headed into the candy store. As they walked through the store, Breanna couldn't help but feel puzzled. Seeing someone from school at Foxwoods, which was an hour away from Fall River, MA, seemed unexpected and raised questions in her mind about why they were there. 

Breanna took a closer look at the person she saw and realized it was indeed her friend, a 16-year-old male from school. She couldn't believe her eyes and initially thought it must be someone who looked like him because it seemed highly unlikely for him to be at Foxwoods. However, when he waved at her, there was no mistaking it—it was her friend. Breanna's confusion and disbelief continued to linger as she and Jake left the candy store. When Breanna's dad asked about the person who said hi, Breanna, still processing the encounter, replied with "someone I met at the pool." In her mind, she couldn't quite reconcile the idea of seeing someone from school at a hotel/resort/casino place in Connecticut, leading her to give the wrong answer in her attempt to make sense of the situation. 

Breanna, still grappling with the shock of seeing someone she knew at Foxwoods, decided to put her headphones on and tune out the world around her. Ignoring the encounter and the questions from her dad, she focused on the music playing in her ears, creating a bubble of distraction to temporarily escape from the confusion and disbelief of the situation. Breanna's dad interrupted her moment of introspection and asked her to put her headphones away while she was listening to music. As Breanna, her dad, and Jake arrived at the food court at Foxwoods, they decided to grab some pizza for their meal. While they were eating, they noticed Robbie sitting at a nearby table, adding to the unexpected encounters of the day. 

As everyone finished their pizza, they headed to the tree arcade at Foxwoods to play games and try their luck at winning prizes. However, Breanna once again ran into the same person she saw earlier. This time, she made a conscious decision to ignore them and focus on enjoying her time at the arcade, determined to do her own thing and not let the encounter distract her from having fun. After a successful round at the arcade where Breanna and her family won some prizes like candy, they made their way back to the hotel room. Breanna and her family settled back into their hotel room, changing into their comfortable pajamas and unwinding after a day filled with activities. They relaxed by watching TV together, while Breanna listened to music and explored TikTok, particularly preferring other parts of the platform over the cringy content of 2018 TikTok. 

As the night progressed, everyone in Breanna's family eventually went to sleep, including her dad, Robbie, and Jake. However, Breanna stayed up later, until around 11:30 pm to 12:00 am, indulging in social media. She scrolled through Snapchat and TikTok. On Monday, August 20, 2018, everyone in Breanna's family woke up around 6-6:30 am, starting the day early. Breanna, however, slept in a bit and woke up around 7-7:30 am. After waking up, she spent some time on her phone until around 8:30 am, when her dad headed to Dunkin Donuts near the Grand Pequot.

As everyone gathered at Dunkin Donuts near the Grand Pequot, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. Breanna and Jake couldn't resist the temptation of the sweet treats displayed in the glass case. They each picked out a donut, savoring every bite of the sugary delight, while their dad enjoyed a steaming cup of coffee, preparing for the day ahead. It was a simple yet enjoyable moment, setting a pleasant tone for the morning at Foxwoods. After enjoying their breakfast at Dunkin Donuts near the Grand Pequot, Breanna and her family returned to their hotel room to freshen up and change into new clothes for the day. With renewed energy and excitement, they checked out of the hotel room around 9:30-10:00 am.

After checking out of the hotel, Breanna and her family got into the car and made their way back to Dad's house in Hope Valley, RI.  After arriving at her dad's house around 10:30 am, Breanna took some time to relax and unwind. She grabbed her phone and listened to some music, immersing herself in the melodies. Later, she switched over to TikTok, diving back into the platform and exploring the following part of TikTok, enjoying the variety of content it had to offer. As it reached around 1 pm, Breanna and her family bid farewell and left Dad's house. They got back into the car and headed to Providence Place Mall, where Breanna planned to do some school clothes shopping. With the new school year approaching next Wednesday (August 29), it was the perfect time to pick out some stylish outfits and gear up for the upcoming academic term. 

At Providence Place Mall, Breanna made her way to several stores to shop for school items. She visited Hollister and American Eagle for clothing and accessories, and then stopped by Claire's for additional school-related items. It was a productive shopping trip, ensuring she had everything she needed to start the new school year with style. After a successful shopping spree, Breanna and her family headed to the food court at Providence Place Mall to grab some lunch. After enjoying lunch at the mall, Breanna and her family left and made their way to Staples in Fall River. Their next stop was to stock up on school supplies, ensuring Breanna was well-prepared for the upcoming school year. 

After their shopping adventures at Staples, Breanna and her family headed back home to Breanna and Robbie's house, where they lived with Mom and Grandma. It marked the end of a busy day of preparing for the school year.
