All This Time

Chapter 2

I don't sleep that night. Before I know it, Saturday morning has rolled around and I can smell breakfast being made by my sister. I look at my phone to see that it is 8 in the morning. Right on time. I get myself out of bed and ready for the day. 

When I walk downstairs, breakfast is hot off the stove and ready to be eaten.

"Anna should be down in a second. She had to use the bathroom," Grace told me. 

I get my plate and make it. I get myself some scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and some pancakes. Also some coffee since I didn't sleep last night.

"Hungry are we?" She asks jokingly.

"I didn't eat after my run last night," I lie.

Anna then comes down the stairs and gets her food. She sits next to me as Grace follows. 

"Have either of you heard from the twins at all?" I ask hoping they don't guess.

There is a pause. 

"The Dolan Twins?" Grace asks with shock.

"Duh. What other twins?"

"I haven't. Anna?"

Anna shakes her head no as she chews her food. 

"Have you heard from either of them?" Grace asks.

"No. I was just wondering. I know it's been forever. I just-"

"We know that you miss them. More so your Gray then anything," She joked.

"Hey. Nobody calls him that," I laughed.

"Only you," Anna rats me out.

"I guess. I do miss those two boys quite a bit. I really would do anything do hear their voices again. We all had all the fun together."

We all sat for a moment thinking of all the memories with those two boys. 

"Remember when we first met them?" Grace asked. 

"Of course I do! How could I forget," I smile at the memory.

When we finish our breakfast, we clean up after ourselves and go into our rooms. I have to do a mid shift today at work. So I go in at 10am and get off at 6:30 tonight. I think about that day as I get ready.

My family and I had just moved to L.A. from San Jose. This was when the twins were getting started on YouTube in 2014. My family moved to L.A. with just a couple months left of 2014. My older sister was in her Sophmore year of High School. My younger in 7th grade. I myself was a Freshmen. Same age as the twins. 

One of the girls on my sisters cheer team knew Chis Collins and wanted to hang out one night. Being her younger sister and only one year behind her, I went with her. She told our parents we were sleeping at a friends house. Off we went to spent the Friday night with them.

What a night it was that is for sure. Before I know it I have to leave for work and I am out the door on my way.

I am sitting on my  lunch when I get a text from Grayson. Giving me the address, he asks if he could call me. I tell him yes, but I only have half an hour seeing that I am on a lunch.

"How is work?"  He asks.

"Not bad. What's up?

"Do you still like my famous burgers?"

"Like them? I've been dreaming of them for the past two and a half years," I joke with him.

"Good. That is what we are having Friday night. That wine still your favorite?"

"You know it Dolan."

"I will see you Friday night."

We then hang up the phone and on with my day I go.

When I get home, nobody is there. I go up to my room to take a shower for the night. When I get out I put my pajamas on and being some school work for a couple hours before bed. I barley get started when there is a knock on my balcony door.

"Grayson! What in the hell? Get in here," I say as I close the door behind him.

"I wanted to give you some flowers."

"Thank you. One it could have waited until Friday. Two tell me if you are coming here. Three my sisters still do not know that I have been talking to you. So please always to number two."

"Got it. When you going to tell them?"

"I don't know Grayson. It's been two and a half years. I don't know if they are ready for that. To be honest, I wasn't either."

"I am sorry for that too. It was just, I saw you there. I had to."

"I am glad you did though. I really have missed the two of you. So have my sisters. We would love to have you guys over for some dinner."

"We would love to. Just not right now. We are trying to slowly come back," He tells me.

"What are you guys going to do?" I ask.

"Of course we would go back to YouTube. Upload a video letting everyone know how our life has been."

"I get to know first right?"

"You always know everything first."

He wasn't wrong. I knew him and his brother better than anyone. I always knew when they had stupid ideas before they even knew it. We could really almost read each other minds. It's like we were all the same person. 

"I miss those days too Ev."

He holds my hand. I let my hand rest in his before pulling away.

"Thank you again for the flowers. Let me go get a some water and everything for them. I will be right back.

I run downstairs to get a vase, water, and flower food from the kitchen. I go back to my room and put them on my dresser where I can see them well. I sit next to him on my balcony.

"What else brings you here Grayson?"

"Are your sisters not here?"

"No. House was empty when I came  home today."

"I really just wanted to see you for a bit. It has been a while. How is school going?" He asks.

"Good. I am right on track to graduate this year."

"Class of 2025. I like it," He tells me as we both smile.

Damn I miss that smile.

"I really just wanted to come by to give you the flowers."

"One question. How did you even find me?"

"You never turned off your location for me. I also know what your car looks like. Once I found the neighborhood, there rest wasn't hard."

"You always find a way Grayson."

We hug goodbye and out he went. Nobody has to know that he was ever here. I then go back to doing some school work.
