All This Time

Chapter 3

Friday finally comes around and I tell my sisters that I am spending the night with some friends of mine. I then am off to see Grayson.

It takes me 40 minutes to get to his house and when I do, I pull into the garage as he said to do when I got there. From there I knocked on the door and he let me in. This place is amazing. 

"Hi Grayson."

We both shared a hug and he closed the door behind me. This is the first time that I am in this house of his.

"I have the burgers going now. They should be done soon."

We go into the kitchen and I can smell the goodness. His burger sauce is amazing. He can cook bacon perfectly and everything just melts together in your mouth. I have never had better burger in my life than his. 

"Tell me. What happened the day after that video was uploaded? What made no contact happen?"

"So right away. Alright."

"Yes right away Grayson. I feel like there is a lot to cover here."

"Fine. The day after once everyone was gone my brother and I talked. We decided if we really wanted to do this, we had to commit. Nobody was allowed in our lives."

"What. So you literally just said screw everybody that quick? That seems a little too quick and simply done."

"It wasn't like that. When we decided to stop filming videos, you all knew what a toll it had taken on us. We picked up on a habit that we knew would turn us mean."

He quickly checked on the food. Flipping the burgers quickly and making sure the fries weren't burning. Then back to me. 

"What were you guys doing?"

"We started drinking more. When we weren't doing that, we tried other things I just don't want to mention."

"So instead of coming to us? Your friends?"

"We hid away until we decided it was time to stop and make that short film."

"How long did it all last before then?"

He then got the rest of the food ready and served it. We continued to sit in the kitchen while we talked. 

"About a year. Then on and off for another six months before coming to a complete stop."

"Your brother too?"

"Yeah. The both of us."

"Did the other things ever get more than the drinking?"

"No. The drinking was the worst of it."

I sat and thought. I really want to believe him and that they are better. We just started hanging out again. I feel like I need to get to re-know them.

"You good?" He asks.

"Yeah. It's just hard to believe that you two went through all of that."

"It has been hard for us too. We are recovering and we have been doing so very good. I can promise you that Ev."

"I miss you calling me that," I say with a smile.

"There has been a lot we have missed too," He pauses. "I've really missed you the most Ev."

He take my hand. Our eyes meet. A tear falls down my face. 

"It's almost like we have done this before," He says to me.

"Yeah. How could I forget Gray? It was the last time I saw the two of you. It was the last time that I saw you." 

My crying picked up at this point. 

"I don't think you guys realize how much that hurt all of us. Me more so then everyone else Grayson. I have only imagined the day I see one or both of you again. That was not at all how I thought it would happen. It's been so hard for-"

I was stopped by him kissing me I kissed back. I melted into him. This is what I have been waiting for this entire time.

"Can we just pick up where we left off?" He then asked me.

"Of course we can Gray. I would love that."

We both smiled and gave another kiss. This feels so right.

"Would you like to go in the hot tub for a bit?" He asked.

"I don't have a suit with me."

"I think I still have one of the ones you left at my old place. I never got rid of it so you always had one over at my place."

He went up to his room and quickly returned with the all too familiar suit that I remember wearing dozens of times in the summer when we went by their place. I took it from him and quickly changed in the bathroom while he got the hot tub ready. 

When I walk out back, I saw more wine waiting and a shirtless Grayson waiting to get in with me. 

"There's that beautifulness I have missed," He said making me smile.

We both get in and turn on the outside TV so we have something to watch while we sit out here. There is nothing that I have missed more than this. 

"So. Do we want to make this official?" Grayson asked me as we ralexed.

"I don't know yet Grayson. You just came back into my life. I feel like I really need to get to know you again."

"I get that. Take all the time you need."

We continued on with our night and just talked about anything and everything.

Struggling to get out of the hot tub once we have finished the wine, we stumble into the house laughing at some stupid thing we remember from back before they stopped posting. 

"Let's get into something dry. Follow me," Grayson said as we both carefully made our way to his room.

He gives me a hoodie and a pair of his boxers to wear as shorts to change into. I go into his bathroom to change. I hang up my suit in the shower to dry off. I then got into his hoodie that covered my whole bottom and got the boxers on. 

I walk back out into his room and see him on the bed in a pair of shorts waiting for me. I crawl in next to him as he then turns on what we were watching downstairs. 

"Tonight was fun Gray. I am so glad that we got to talk about things."

"I am here whenever you are ready. I promise," He tells me as he then kissed my forehead. 

We cuddled up for the night as well asleep.
