"Billie Dean Howard, medium to the stars, raises eyebrows when seen out with a younger woman"
That's what I woke up to this morning. Funny thing is, I never check my email, but I have a package set to arrive and was looking for the tracking number again when I saw it. I chose not to read it because it's just a tabloid, right? I mean of course it would raise questions because I'm significantly younger than her and people apparently have problems with age gaps.
I've never really understood it because as long as both parties are adults, what's the problem? It only concerns people who don't know how to mind their own business. However, part of me wanted to read it if only for shits and giggles. I decided against it, though, not wanting to let it get to my head. Yet, given I'm still thinking about it, it has gotten to me a bit.
Billie didn't mention it though so I figure it must not be a big deal. In fact, she asked me to come to set today because she wanted to see me which is exciting. As I was getting ready it completely slipped my mind, even more so when I finally arrived. She told me to just tell them my name and then head to her office when I got in. She gave me directions beforehand, so I wouldn't be lost, which I really appreciated.
I knocked and entered only when I heard her soft voice tell me to. "Hi, sweetheart" she utters happily, getting up to hug me. "Well hi" I giggle, letting her lead me over to the couch. "Just give me one second, ok? I was finishing up a report" she tells me and I assure her it's fine. I watch her as she types away on her computer, every so often glancing at her own fingers.
That's where most of my focus is actually, her fingers, her hands move expertly across the keyboard and I imagine them doing the same elsewhere. Billie is probably the most beautiful woman I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Something about her energy is just intoxicating, you can never get enough. "All done" she chirps, hitting what I assume to be the send button.
"Has no one ever told you that staring is rude, darling" she smirks and I meet her eyes, "sorry" I mumble. I don't try to deny it because obviously she caught me and what else was I supposed to say? "Don't apologize, I like it" she sighs happily and it's like I'm put in a trance by the way she breathes the words, her tone anything but holy. "You think I'm beautiful, don't you?" she prompts as she stands and starts to slowly strut towards me.
I simply nod, not being able to speak as my eyes trail her body involuntarily. She has the legs of a goddess, it's actually insane. "I know you're attracted to me, Kenzie" she whispers as she gets closer and I finally manage to meet her eyes again, a significant height difference between us due to my seated position. "I don't see why you don't just admit it to me, babydoll... what's the problem?" she pouts while placing a hand on my chin, her fingers teasingly running along my jaw.
I still can't find the strength to reply, trapped in the spell she's cast on me. "Mind if I sit? I'm a bit tired from walking around" she says, "no — yeah, go ahead" I stutter, she smiles and straddles my thighs. I can feel the heat radiating off her body and I almost audibly gasp. Her hand trails to the middle of my chest, leaning in towards my ear, her cheek gently pressing against mine. "So much better" she sighs softly and it almost sounds like a moan.
"Billie-" I'm cut off by her rolling her hips down into mine and I gasp. "Oh? Does that turn you on?" she whispers, before I have a chance to even think of a semi-intelligent response, we're interrupted by a knock on the door. "I'm busy!" she leans away from me to yell, her hands lightly gripping my shoulder to keep herself upright. "I'm sorry Miss Howard but you have a call on line one, it's... important" I hear a young man say through the door.
Meanwhile, I'm distracted by how her shirt pulls against her torso in this position, showing her subtle curves a little more than usual. "Tell them I'll call back later, I have..." she glances at me and smirks, "things to do" she finishes before breaking our eye contact. "I really think you should-" "Well, I don't pay you to think — do as I asked. And I need an hour alone for business. Don't let anyone near my door to distract me" she orders.
"Y-yes Miss Howard" he replies before the sound of receding footsteps is heard. "Now... where were we?" she questions once the footsteps are no longer audible. She bites her lips and runs one of her nails gently down my throat which makes me gulp. "Billie I... please" I whisper, "please what, darling?" her eyes are hooded as she stares back at me with obvious desire.
Her hand caresses my cheek with the utmost sweetness and I close my eyes at the sensation. "Stop" I say on an exhale, "you don't want me to stop, I can tell" she replies and she's not entirely wrong. My body wants this so bad but I know I'll only regret it if I don't talk to her first. The article comes back to mind and I start to overthink.
During this time, her hand has started inching down my stomach and as I regain my senses I grab her wrist gently but enough to make my point. "Billie. I said stop" I say more firm this time and her lips part as she blinks quickly. She removes herself from my body, taking a seat next to me on the couch. "I'm sorry d-did I make you uncomfortable?" her face looks so guilty and I feel bad because she was right, I want her more than I can express, but it's complicated.
"Listen... you're right I- I do find you attractive, you're very beautiful" I stress, "just not in that way..." she looks down at her hand in her lap and plays with her nails. "No it's not — what I'm saying is... I don't only think you're hot" I explain, hoping she gets my meaning. Her perfect eyebrows crease until her face relaxes, her lips parting with a soft sound.
"Oh..." she sighs, seconds later moving to her feet and facing her desk with her back to me. "And I wanted you to know that before we do this — if we ever do this... I want you to be sure... that that's something you want too" I express nervously. It's silent between us and eventually she turns around, her lips parting once more as she prepares to answer me. However, before any words can pass her lips, the door opens swiftly.
We both turn to look and it's none other than that bitch from the party. "I've called you like a million times now! What could be so important that you-" she cuts herself short as she perceives my presence in the room. She frowns for a few seconds but quickly forces a polite smile and I do the same just to be cordial. "I don't think we've had the chance to be properly introduced... who are you?" most people would give their name first but I get the feeling Xandra isn't like most people.
"Kenzie, and you are?" I answer in the same tone because if she can be nice nasty, so can I. "Though I'm sure Billie has talked about me... Xandra Terrell, a pleasure to make your acquaintance" she says with even more venom bigger smile as she steps close and reaches out her hand. "Wish I could say the same" I mumble to myself but purposefully loud enough for her to hear. "I was just going, she's all yours" I stand up, wiping my hands on my pants and she drops her hand realizing I'm not going to take it.
"What an interesting... girl. Billie always picks them odd" she chuckles, "oh I can surely tell" I narrow my eyes slightly as I grin and I could swear I see her eyes twitch as her mask falters. "Bye" I say towards Billie, "I'll call you" she promises. "Please... take your time" I say passive aggressively as I give Xandra a once over. I make it to my car and rest my head on the steering wheel as I crank it up and sigh deeply.
What is it with that woman and always being wherever Billie is? I would say they're really good friends, I mean friends make playful jabs at each other, like when Billie called her an attention whore, but something is off. The medium doesn't seem to like her very much. If that's the case, then why doesn't she just stop spending time with her?
None of it makes sense to me except for the fact that, for some odd reason, Xandra doesn't like me. I've never even done anything to the woman, it's the first time I've formally met her. Even when I was first around her, she seemed to have a problem with me. Billie couldn't have told her anything about me at that point, because we didn't even know each other, so what's her issue?
