Calliope Pov
I was riding my bike early in the morning before I went to school. As I was riding my bike I started to think to myself.
"I think a lot about how the world treats teenage girls. Like, everything that's good about us is a weakness." I thought to myself as I rode up to my new home for the next couple of months.
"Our hearts, our emotions, our empathy, means we need to be protected." I finished my thoughts as I walked inside the house.
"How was your ride?" My mom said as I walked in.
"Good." I told her. She had on her running gear so I knew she was about to go on a run while I got ready for school,
"Want me to drop you off at school?" She asked me as she cupped my face with her soft hands.
"I'm good." I told her
"Okay. Also Y/n will be meeting you at the school, okay?" She reminded me and I gave her a small smile.
"No problem, I'm going to go get ready now." I said as she closed the door behind her. Once she was out the door I wandered back into my own thoughts.
"My whole family treats me like they know I have all the potential in the world, but I have a lot to learn. Maybe both are true. All I know is I'm ready to prove to them what I'm capable of." I thought to myself as I picked my outfit for today. I checked myself in the mirror and grabbed my book off the coffee table along with my book-bag. I grabbed my bike and started the ride to school. As I was riding to school I stopped and looked towards Y/n's house. I didn't see her dirt bike there which indicated she was at school, but I did see Idina there. I rode up to the driveway and got of the bike to talk to her
"Hey Idina." I said as she turned around and looked at me with wide eyes.
"Oh, hey Cal. What are you up to?" She asked me as she walked up to me.
"I'm headed to school. Did Y/n leave already?" I asked her and she shook her head before responding to me.
"Yeah, she just went to the store for me real fast but she will be at school by lunch. The rest of the gang besides Lilo are finishing up the backyard for me and then they are heading to your house after school." She told me and I shook my head while listening to her.
"Okay, well I will see you later." I said as I grabbed my bike and continued my ride back to school. As I got there it was still early and I took off the green shirt and sat on the grass outside while I started to read.
"Week two in Savannah. It's not easy to make friends when you know you'll be in a new city in a few months. So, head up, shoulders back, smile politely." I thought to myself again. As a football landed in front of me I saw a hand reach down and get it.
"Here you go." She said handing the boy back the football. It was Y/n.
"Thanks so much." The boy said going back to finish the game. I stood up and gave her a hug.
"Hey Y/n. Idina said you wouldn't be here until lunch." I said and she just smiled down at me.
"Nah, I finished a bit earlier. Plus how can I miss seeing my best friend's sister after four years." She said, opening up her arms pulling me into a hug. I gave her one back after playfully rolling my eyes.
"Just because you and Theo are best friends doesn't mean I get the label of best friend sister. I am your friend too." I said to her lightly, punching her arm. She rubbed her arm.
'First of all ouch. Secondly, I know you're my friend. I just love messing around with you." She said
"The fact you've been here for the past five years concerns me. Don't tell me you've lost your touch." I said, poking at her stomach.
