"SO, DID YOU tell him about me yet?" Lee Yugyeong inquired, her tone stained with curiosity.
As Hoseok had informed Yoongi earlier, he planned to meet his girlfriend later that evening. Yugyeong picked him up from his house in her car, and now they cruised through the bustling nightlife of Jung District, heading towards Itaewon for the night.
Noticing Hoseok's initial lack of response, she repeated her question, surmising he might not have heard her clearly: "Did you tell Yoongi about me or not?"
Hoseok, having heard her clearly the first time, remained silent, gathering his thoughts before responding.
In late February of 1997, a couple of weeks after Yoongi moved into the boarding house, Mr. Jung and Mrs. Bae introduced Jung Hoseok to Lee Yugyeong, the daughter of a close family friend from their church circle. Hoseok's initial impression of Yugyeong was one of respectability; while she may not have been as stunning, her appearance was simple and unassuming. Standing at an average height, she dressed modestly, eschewing heavy makeup—a quality that appealed to the couple. Jung Hoseok understood his parents' intention to set her up with a girl to move on from Yoongi, and he chose not to oppose their plans. It wasn't that he endorsed their scheme; he simply maintained a tolerant attitude.

Yugyeong showed up to the location wearing black knee high boots, a navy blue mini skirt, a white v-neck camisole that highlighted her cleavage area, and a burgundy leather jacket over it. That night, she opted for a smokey eye makeup look, which made her appear unapproachable yet seductive at the same time, like a red serpent slithering through the dessert in twilight. Similarly, on this night, Yugyeong wore another revealing outfit. Since it was a scorching hot summer, she was clad in a low waisted mini denim skirt, a black tube top and red kitten heels.
