The waters where Lucerys and Arrax fell still move and swish, cold winds blowing above as water clashes together. A body—a young boy's body—floats on the surface of the waters. The boy's body remains still as the currents guide him downriver. It's Lucerys. His unconscious body floats on the waters, his eyes tightly shut and his body unmoving. However, his chest rises and falls with slow inhaling and exhaling—he's alive but severely wounded. Bruises cover his body from the impact of the fall, along with a concussion, a bloody nose, and a broken leg. Scratches also mar his skin as his unconscious body is scraped against sharp rocks, one cut on his shoulder being particularly deep.
As Lucerys's cold body continues to be pushed by the currents of the water, eventually, his body is washed up onto a rocky piece of land. Finally, after hours, Lucerys's eyes slowly flutter and flicker open. His vision is blurry, and it stings. His breathing becomes shaky as he now feels the pain of his injuries. His body feels frozen, as he shivers in the cold. Lucerys moves his eyes around to see where he is, but he doesn't recognize this place. He doesn't know where he is. Normally, Lucerys would panic at this moment, but his brain is still foggy from the fall, so he doesn't react much. Suddenly, Lucerys hears the voices and footsteps of people, but he doesn't know from which direction they're coming. Before Lucerys is even able to attempt to move his head to try to see, he slowly falls in and out of consciousness. The last thing he sees before he fully loses awareness is a group of people standing over him, talking and looking worried. Then his eyelids give way and fall shut.
Lucerys's eyes flicker and flutter open again, this time met with his vision mostly obscured by blackness, with only a crack of light peeking through. Confusion fills Lucerys as he wonders what's happening. He turns his head to face the light shining through the crack, despite the pain it causes him, groaning in agony. It's a fire, a nicely lit fire keeping him warm, its light creeping through the crack. Lucerys lies still for a moment, trying to process what's happening. He feels that he's lying somewhere comfortable with a blanket placed over him, but that still doesn't answer where he is. Lucerys attempts to move his hand towards his face, but it doesn't budge; he's weak. With more determination this time, Lucerys forces his hand to weakly move towards his face. As his hand makes contact, he realizes that the reason most of his vision is blocked is because he has bandages wrapped around his face. Lucerys ponders in his mind who might have done this. For a moment, he lights up at the thought that maybe his family found his body, brought him home, and treated his wounds. But then Lucerys remembers the people he saw standing over him before he lost consciousness. Then he hears a woman's voice coming from inside the room with him.
Lucerys's heart thumps in his chest as he hears the mystery woman's voice. In surprise and fear, Lucerys quickly moves his head in different directions, trying to figure out where this person is and who they are. But while doing so, sharp stabs of pain penetrate him from moving so quickly in his injured state, causing Lucerys to let out a cry of agony."Shh... you will only strain your body more if you fling yourself around like that," the woman in the room says as she approaches and sits by him. From the sounds of it, she's an old woman. Panic still lingers inside Lucerys, though. This time, Lucerys slowly moves his head towards the woman. Through the crack in his bandages, he can see a bit that the woman is indeed old. She has tied-up white hair, wrinkles spread out across her face, a darkened skin tone, and is wearing some type of blue fur coat.As Lucerys continues to observe her, he sees that she is seemingly taking off some of his bandages and replacing them. As she does this, he sees that all his wounds have been bandaged and treated. Lucerys opens his mouth, intending to ask who she is, but all that comes out is a croak, as he is too weak to even speak.
