I dont know why I came here. It was a mistake.

The fallen god lays in his mattress, even in such a state his hair has yet to loose it shine. Its spread across his makeshift pillow and his mangled limbs sprawled across his mattress. He paints a picture of bittersweet beauty before you see the dreaded look pulling at his features; his eyes pulled tight and brows furrowed.

though the distress is rather beautiful on him still.

His robes began to fall down his shoulder, exposing his perfect skin tainted with days of muck and grime.

Before all this, what was it that the God said to me? A strained look on his face as he experienced pain far worse than purgatory, defeated bloodshot eyes matching the red stained in the floor of my domain before him. The blood of that tyrant.

But what did he say?

I had tried so hard to forget, but this mans words always had a way of sticking right there, like pins, in the forefront of my mind.

"This whole time, did you truly hate me that much..?"

I never answered him; I couldn't.

Not when he insist on laying the blame for all this on his own shoulders.

"Oh Quingxuan," I breathe, my hand moves before I comprehend my actions, resting on his cold cheek, gentle as if a gust of wind alone would shatter the man. "If only you could know I love you more than the stars in the sky and fish in the sea. But even I am not cruel enough to say it."

awake..

"This burden was never yours to bear, Quingxuan." my hand slides down his cheek, his chin now resting in my palm. "Let me restore your Godhood,"

I tilt his head to face me, not exactly begging but not quite asking either, "please"

"...After everything you did to prove I had no business being a God in the first place, forget salting the wound just tell the man to kick his own barrel.."

The light in his eyes has faded, he doesn't try to protest just lets me have my way. His voice is tired and raspy, I believe he had permanently hurt it from screaming that day.

"You are naive Quingxuan, the spot by his side was never your place."

"Oh, but if i had stayed by your side would it not have been my hand that.." His voice breaks as his body tense; Ive heard a rumor that since that day, he's still refused to go near a body of water.

a sad attempt at comforting him as my thumb strokes the side of his face, "Id have never let you see."

"...you never planned to spare him"

"The tyrant started it, I simply brought an end to the matter and tied his loose ends. There is nothing you could have done, that is why-"

"YOU KILLED HIM!"

"That is why," my thumb slides from the side of his jaw over his mouth, "this is not yout burden to bear"

"..."

"Will you not leave me alone?"

With a sigh, I gather the man into my arms, his chest resting in mine with his legs in front of him. My hand. slowly running through his hair, "In this disheveled state? I shall not."

he doesn't fight my actions, instead he leans into my touch as If we were back in the Heavenly Capitol, before this whole ordeal. We stay here for just  a moment, before, as if remembering where we are, he hesitant leans himself away from me, trying to uncomfortably hold himself away from me whole still between my arms. With minimal effort, I pull him back into my chest. he doesn't lean into me this time, but he doesn't push me away either.

"Then, please, Min-He Xuan, leave me alone."

"I will not."

"Why"

"Despite your mind, you seem to rather like my presence." my fingers continue through his hair, brushing away any knots. "Also, I dont want to."

"Your selfish."

"Quingxuan, when did I ever give you the impression I was not?"
