ALIEN BOY IN A HUMAN WORLD (Spooky Month Story)

Chapter four - "I *need* to tell them!"

(Robert is gonna be self projected alot
during this chapter)

Robert's POV:

I sat at the desk in my small room at Uncle John's house and rummaged through my cd collection. I didn't know what to listen to but I wanted something to calm down to, I pull out "90s Alternative Rock hits" and I put it in my stereo and played some random track. I realised I had put on "Only in dreams" by Weezer, I love this song!! I grabbed my small note pad and my pen and scribbled random stuff on it.. I need to tell Ross and Roy about y'know what.. I feel so stupid though, they are never gonna believe that shit. A spin on my chair as the song plays, it's a perfect indie rock song. But seriously. How do I tell them!? I pick up my phone to check the time, 12:20 am. Why do I always wake up so early on the weekends? Probably because I'm so anxious about this.. What if it ruins our friendship?? What if they bully me??!?! What if they tell everyone?! I put my head on the desk and let out an annoyed moan. I wish I was a human like my friends. I'm a fucking weirdo that scientists would probably test on. That's why I've been told to hide it. For me and my family's lifes to be normal. But they never will. I feel like my family is me, Riley, John and Molly now? Probably because I'm at his house too much because mam and dad are "busy", do they even want me and Riley? I remember that we brought Rad over because I look at my bed and see her little body stretched out asleep on it. She's such a cutie.. I love her. My little alien cat.

1:00 pm.

I decided to go downstairs and get something to eat because I'm starving. I grab the bread and throw some in the toaster, I'll just make some chocolate spread toast. I look in the sitting room and Uncle John and his friend Jack are sitting down talking in there. I swear there's more between them but I'm not n the place to say that.. I peep my head in to ask Uncle John a question.

3RD PERSON:

Robert peeps his head in and coughs, "Uncle John, did Rad get her food this morning?" He nodded as he tapped his fag on the ash tray "I fed her." Jack smiled at Robert. "Hello Robert, you've grown so much since I last saw you!" Robert blushes, he even hates to think of himself two months ago... That means he was slightly younger. "Heh.. I haven't grown THAT  much!" Jack laughs. "Still a bit though." Robert speaks up. "Uncle John, can you come out to the hall or something?"

ROBERT'S POV:

Uncle John nods and gets up, quinching his fag and he closes the door behind us. "What's up Rob?" I nervously play with my hair.. "Soo...... Uhmm......" He gives me a glare and mimicked what I was trying to tell him. "What about it?" He stares at me. "It's just... I wanna tell-" he cuts me out. "Do you want to put us all in danger Robert?! Are you out of your mind!?" I shake and look up at him scared. He sighs softly and his face softens and he hugs me. "Sorry... I got a bit scared for a second.. Go on.." he lets go of me after the quick hug and I continue to speak. "So as I was saying.. In school my skin started to go green and my antenna popped out and I had to hide in the bathroom... And I didn't know what to do.. And.. And... I couldn't go to Ross or Roy because they don't know about me being a y'know what."

JOHN'S POV:

I sigh, I get where Rob is coming from. Childhood must be hard for him, Molly and Riley for being slightly 'different' than the other children... I speak up. "Look, Rob.. Can you trust Ross and Roy? Because y'know if the wrong person knows you could put yourself and the rest of us in great danger.. I'm not saying your trying to but.. I'm just worried it'll get into the wrong hands." Rob nods. "I know but.. Like.. We have been friends since I was tiny!" Rob mimicked how small he was with his hand. I chuckled. "Look, we'll talk about it later. I promise." I kiss his forehead and he smiled and hugged me. I know he just wants to tell his friends because of the whole skin thingy.

ROBERT'S POV:

At least we will talk about it later. I still hear my cd playing lightly upstairs and I giggle. I walk up the stairs again and go back to my room.
