Aliyna, age 18, walked inside a temple that was said to have a Djinn named Sata sealed within it. Once she stepped inside, the torches magically lit thistle color.

Take deep breaths. You have been training for this day. You are a Djinn Slayer and it is time to prove it. Do not let your training go to waste. Aliyna told herself.

Aliyna wore a bedlah that is traditional for Djinn Slayers to wear whenever they go out to slay Djinns. She is also wearing a face veil.

Aliyna continued to walk until she entered a large room. There she can see mounds of treasures, golden coins, jewelry, gemstones, diamonds, and crystals. She also noticed dry blood on the wall along with bones. She can even smell the rotting flesh that went up to her nostrils. "Djinn Sata. Reveal yourself. I, Aliyna Bakir, a Djinn Slayer is ready to claim your life." She spoke loudly, showing no fear.

For a moment there was silence until there was a deep chuckle echoing throughout the room.

"Hahaha. I had seen Djinn Slayers come and go. They had spoken the same thing and yet they had failed to take my head. What makes you any different from them?" The deep voice questioned, belonging to Sata who has yet to show himself.

"Because I have prepared myself to face you. You shall be my first to kill." Aliyna said, takes out her sickle from its strap from behind her back.

Footsteps can be heard coming closer along with chains being dragged on the stone floor.

Amber colored eyes can be seen, staring back at Aliyna until the Djinn finally presents himself in front of her. Sata stood in front of Aliyna, his height towering her.

Aliyna stared back at Sata.

Sata has black tattoos etched on his skin. Scars can be seen on his chest. He is wearing only baggy blue pants and white cuffs. Over those cuffs are chains that wrapped themselves around his wrists. Lastly his hair is long and dark.

She finds himself to be attractive but immediately gets rid of those thoughts since she knows that Djinns can make themselves attractive to catch their targets off guard.

"I am quite surprised." Sata spoke with sarcasm "I had never thought that a young Djinn Slayer like yourself would have the nerves to confront me all by yourself, especially since you're a woman." Sata leaned closer to Aliyna.

Aliyna can feel his breath against her face veil. "I will take that as a compliment, Djinn." She said "I'm guessing these bones that you had scattered were your victims?" She looked down and saw a skull.

Sata chuckled "we, Djinns, are not vulnerable to hunger. Once humans had worshipped us but now..." He gritted his teeth "but now they treat us as if we are monsters. They fear us due to the powers we have that they do not possess." He said.

Aliyna can see from his masculine figure that Sata has been eating his fill, eating humans and animals. "Then shall we have this 'dance' Djinn?" She gripped the handle of her sickle tightly.

"I hope this 'dance' of ours will be more fun than the previous ones." Sata threw his fist at her.

She quickly dodged it. Feeling the breeze blew against her hair. Aliyna then swings her scythe at him but only cuts his chest, letting a thin line of blood slowly seep from his wound.

Sata jumped back and frowned. He was a bit careless. It has been a thousand years since he last faced a Djinn Slayer. Sata traced his cut, smearing blood on his chest with his finger. He then licked his blood off his finger while looking at Aliyna. "Impressive Djinn Slayer. It seems that I had underestimated you for your gender. Your speed is gifted from your destiny of being a Djinn Slayer but I wonder if your strength is on par with those who have been crushed by me." He grinned and charged at her.

Aliyna dodged his punches and kicks. Then he kicked her weapon out of her hand. Shit. She cursed.

Sata threw a punch at her, ready to kill her.

Aliyna closed her eyes and waited but the pain never came. She opened her eyes and saw that Sata's fist is inches away from her face. She finally noticed that the chains around his wrist are preventing him from making any other moves. Using this opportunity, Aliyna kicked Sata in the stomach that made him cough out air from his lungs and sent him flying back and hit the wall.

Normally if a human would dare to strike a Djinn then their bones would shatter upon impact but thankfully for Aliyna, Djinn Slayers have superhuman strength and have strong resistance to any damages that Djinn could inflict on them.

Aliyna looked down at her right hand and saw that it was starting to bruise. Sata could have broken my wrist. Thank the Gods I can endure the pain.

Sata laid on the floor, his eyes staring at the ceiling above him. He puts his hand on his stomach, feeling pain he has not felt for thousands of years. She is truly a Djinn Slayer... Then he smiled "looks like I would have some fun with her before I get to devour her." He quickly jumped back up and walked back to where Aliyna is.

Just the thought of crushing her bones under his bare feet sent shivers down his spine. Maybe she can give the thrill of the battle once again.

Aliyna saw Sata approaching her once again but this time with hunger in his eyes as he stared at her. "I suppose that now is the time when you start getting serious." She grabbed her sickle, ready for their next round.

"You have no idea, Slayer. Let's enjoy this dance of ours before I devour you." Sata spoke, his magic energy crackling around him.

He charges at her and attacks her once again with his fists and kicks but this time much faster.

Aliyna was having trouble following his movements. It was different from last time. It was as if she was facing a beast.

Just when she wasn't being careful, Sata grabbed her leg and threw her over his head and slammed her onto the floor, causing the floor to crack underneath her.

Aliyna gasped, feeling the intense pain but she refuses to give up.

It was her destiny.

She was born to become a Djinn Slayer and it is her duty to kill the Djinns before they hurt others but yet she is still hesitating. Was it because of him?

"I can't helped but feel disappointed, Slayer." Sata lifted her off the floor, still clutching her ankle and hung her upside down. "I thought you would give me the thrill of a fight just like the last Djinn Slayer I faced thousands of years ago, but I should had guessed that even Djinn Slayers would falter over the years." He sighed.

"Perhaps we should talk, Djinn." Aliyna spoke.

Sata tilted his head "am I hearing it correctly? Did you say we should talk?" He questioned, surprised. This is the first time Djinn Slayer wanted to talk with him without them begging for their miserable lives.

"You could've killed me the moment I stepped into the temple but you did not. Why was that?" Aliyna questioned, feeling dizzy from being hung upside down but judging by Sata's grip, he did not seem concerned.

Sata cupped his chin with his left hand as he began to wonder. "Yes...Why didn't I end your miserable existence the moment you stepped foot into my temple?" He murmured.

He already has reasons for hating humans enough to kill them but with Aliyna, it was different?

Is it because she was a woman? No. That cannot be. He killed women before.

Is it because she looked fragile? No. Some Djinn Slayers had appearances that fooled him before.

What was the reason?
