In the morning, Kuuga worked at "Ciel Bleu," the café owned by Akio Sawyer, known for its association with the "blue sky." He assisted in serving customers coffee and curry rice, using a ladder stand to reach higher shelves and prepare coffee. Kuuga was dressed in a button-up black shirt and a white apron. Additionally, the owner and Kuuga managed to relocate to a new, more comfortable location for their café.
Kuuga: Here's your coffee cup.
Woman: Thank you, young boy.
Kuuga handed a cup of coffee to a woman seated at the counter table. She took a sip and found it delicious.
Woman: This is really good. It's actually even better than the coffee your father used to make.
Kuuga: Well, to be honest, I'm not his biological child. I was adopted. It was the Owner who found me and gave me the opportunity to work here.
Woman: Oh, I see. So, where is he?
Kuuga: Honestly, I don't know. He had some important matters to attend to.
Woman: And he left you all alone to handle things?
Kuuga: No, I am not.
Woman: Huh?
Kuuga felt a touch on his leg and looked down to see Mei patting him. Mei was of the same height as Kuuga. The woman followed Kuuga's gaze.
Woman: Oh, Mei.
Suddenly, the Owner returned with a large piece of luggage covered with painting cover paper.
Owner: I'm home!
Kuuga: Welcome back.
Mei: *Barking*.
Owner: Hello there, Misaki-san.
Misaki: It's been a while.
The Owner placed the luggage with paintings on the counter table. Kuuga noticed a painting of a stranger among them.
Kuuga: What is this?
Owner: Huh? Oh, this is a painting.
Kuuga: A painting? I didn't know you were interested in painting.
Owner: Haha, I'm interested in old-fashioned things.
Kuuga: Huh?
Kuuga looked confused. When the Owner went to his room to put away his things, he came out dressed as a waiter and brought out a painting from the packaging.
Owner: Now then.
The Owner showed the painting to Misaki, the woman to whom Kuuga had served coffee. Both Misaki and Kuuga looked interested at the painting, which turned out to be a depiction of Mt. Fuji.
Kuuga: Is this...
Owner: Yes, this is is a painting of Mt. Fuji.
Misaki: This painting? Could it be a Hohsui Kisaragi painting?
Owner: Yes, indeed.
Kuuga: Hohsui Kisaragi?
Owner: He is an expert at painting all kinds of Mt. Fuji scenes. I managed to get it from a dealer's shop.
Kuuga: ...
Misaki: Speaking of paintings, I heard from newspaper that his pupil managed to sell all of Hohsui-san paintings. They also mentioned that they're building twin tower buildings. They should be opening soon.
Owner: I see. Oh yeah, I heard you said you join to kids for camp right?
Kuuga: Yes...
Owner: I have bought and some camp for your journey...
Owner camp tool for Kuuga. Kuuga surprise...
Kuuga: Owner... you should tell me this that I handle this...
Owner: It's okay, I just worry that you won't get lost in the woods when you encounter trouble with that bear...
Kuuga: smiles
Owner: ...and not only with bears, but you also went on little adventures with those kids...
Kuuga: ...
Kuuga showed a tired expression as the Owner talked about Kuuga's life. Kuuga had his own troubles, remembering the fight against Vermouth to help Conan and Haibara, but he didn't dwell on it. Kuuga then proceeded to make coffee to serve other customers.
Kuuga thought: Camp, huh? I used to go camping... Well, I've forgotten... It seems like I've forgotten everything I learned from my past life.
Kuuga remembered his past and then was interrupted by the news on TV about the Twin Tower building.
News: Good day, everyone. Today, we have an update that Mio Tokiwa-san has announced the release of the Twin Tower building next week... that's the latest so far.
Owner: They're really going ahead with that Twin Tower.
Misaki: Yeah...
Kuuga, the owner, and a customer named Misaki watched the news about the Twin Tower building. Kuuga reflected silently on the news.
Kuuga walked outside, deep in thought, and sighed as he contemplated his life.
Kuuga thought: sigh I have a life that I cherish... but why do I feel like it's not enough? What more do I want? Oh well, I don't even know my own feelings... If only I... No, no, no... don't think back!
Kuuga took a deep breath and tried to relax and clear his mind.
Kuuga thought: Oh shoot, I accidentally remembered something. I think I'm getting tired... Perhaps I need to rest.
Kuuga decided to go inside to take a break and wait until tomorrow to go camping, unaware of the secret incident involving the Twin Tower building. This marks the end of the prologue.
