Alaïa's POV:
"Alaïa Jules Harrison, you know I support every decision you make but this is wrong, you just can't leave without telling your parents, they love you," Emilia's voice comes from the other side of the phone.
"Emy, I know I really do, but it's time for me to move on and live my life away from this luxurious household. I want to live like normal people, be independent, open my own bakery and flower shop," I said after releasing a short breath.
"But-"
"Please Emy, no buts this time, that's the first time I do something for my own."
"Well then okay, if that's what you really want then I'll support you and I'll check up on you whenever I can and surely pay you visits."
"Alaïa dear, come downstairs," came in my mom's voice
"Okay Ems, I must go, mom's calling out for me, I love you, talk to you soon."
"love ya, bye Jules," said Emilia before ending our call.
I wore my pink silky robe, brought my cat "kiwi" along with me, and strolled down the stairs, my hair falling loose on my waist.
As I entered the kitchen, the smell of freshly made pancakes filled my nose, my dad was reading the usual newspapers, mom was bringing out breakfast, and my younger sister, Lea, was getting ready for school. I gave my parents a peck on the check and sat on the table.
"Alaïa dear, tonight we have an important meeting that's going to be held at our house with the Carter Empire, I would like to inform you because I want you to be a part of this meeting," dad said nervously.
"Oh sure, but baba I don't usually participate in those meetings, is there something important?" I spoke after holding my dad's hand.
"You'll know later on sweetie," he said after placing a peck on my head and looked at my mother with hesitation.
"Lea, yalla, come eat, you're going to be late to school," mama said after nodding knowingly at my father.
Our breakfast went smoothly as usual, my parents discussed what they wanted for tonight's dinner meeting and remembered my childhood moments where my dad used to spray me water with the hose while watering plants and help my mom bake our special cake.
But all that was on my mind is how I'm going to tell my parents that I will be leaving them soon.

It's now six in the afternoon, I opened my closet, and started searching for a perfect dress for tonight.
Thirty minutes later, my clothes are scattered all over the floor, but I finally found what I wanted. I wore a black satin silk dress that hugged my curves perfectly, applied concealer, a basic eyeliner wing, some mascara, and a red lip. I decided to leave my hair loose, so I just curled them a bit.
After being satisfied with my appearance, I wore my back YSL heels, applied some fragrance, wore my gold cartier bracelets and went down stairs.
"Oh my dear, you look gorgeous as always," both my parents said while giving me a tight hug.
"Ah look who's talking, my handsome father and beautiful mother," I said while returning their hug back.
My dad was wearing navy blue dress pants that were tailored perfectly along with a white dress shirt that was tucked into his pants. A red tie was wrapped around his neck, tied neatly along with a navy blue jacket that was wrapped around him. His silver wedding ring was wrapped around his finger, and to complete his outfit he wore a pair of brown shoes.
Whilst my mom was wearing a long red dress with a slit that reached her mid thigh. She was wearing her silver jewelry, her hair tied back in a low neat bun,and her silver wedding ring wrapped around her finger. She wore silver heels to complete her outfit.
Breaking the hug, the doorbell rang, so my dad was the first to reach the door, while my mom and I strolled down behind him.
Opening the door, a man in his fifties wearing a black suit along with his wife that was wearing a forest green dress were standing.
"Oh Samuel, it's been a long time. How have you been?" My father asked the man pulling him in a hug.
"My dear Eleanor you look stunning, how long has it been? Five years right?" said my mother with a huge smile plastered on her face.
"Well this is our daughter Alaïa, the shining light and joy of our house. And Alaïa those are Mr. and Mrs. Carter," baba introduced
"Oh dear you look like an angel, you're such a beautiful woman. I'm so happy to meet you," said Mrs. Carter
"The pleasure is mine Mrs. Carter you look beautiful indeed," was all I can say before she pulled me in a warm hug.
"I'm Samuel Carter it's nice meeting you," said the man.
"Likewise Mr. Carter," I said shaking his hand politely.
"Oh by the way Greyson, my son Christian is going to come late he has a lot of work to do," Mr. Carter announced as he turned to my father.
"That's okay, we can wait, so please come with me to the living room and have a small chat before dinner."
After fifteen minutes of chatting, I found out that Mr. Samuel and my dad were high school best friends and were the most popular among students back then. While mom and Mrs. Eleanor met each other through dad and Mr. Samuel, and ended up studying the same major, fashion design.
I, on the other hand, spoke when I only got asked directly. Overall The Carter's were such friendly people.
Caught up in my thoughts, the door bell rang, so I was the one to open the door because my father asked me to.
As I opened the door, I met a pair of green emotionless eyes staring directly into mine. His eyes briefly looked me up and down as a small smirk plastered across his perfect lips.
