"Jae, are you asleep?" a feminine voice came from outside of his room.
"Jae..." the voice became clearer ever passing second.
When no response was heard from the boy inside the room, the next action committed by the person outside were the loud bangs on the door.
The sound of someone aggressively knocking his room door took him out of his nightmare.
He opened his eyes and was met with a devastated him staring in his soul from the front mirror.
He gulped and tried his best not to stutter the next few words he was about to utter,
"I'm alright mom." he managed to speak.
"Are you sure Jae?" his mother's voice from outside sounded worried.
Oh how much he wanted to open the door, hug her tightly and cry in her embrace for hours but no he would never do that. He never wanted his parents to get anymore worried about him...
They were already doing so much for him from taking care of him like a little baby to paying for his therapy sessions which never helped him, no matter how much they tried.
"Y-yes mom I'm alright don't worry I'll be sleeping now." he uttered trying to hold back his tears.
His mother left. He wanted to sleep but he knew he won't be able to do that.
and so, he began to circle in his room trying to throw away the thoughts that kept on clouding his head. But just like every other day, he again went back to that same day,
"Jae, come here..."
Jaehyun began to follow the noise once again without him even knowing.
"Jaehyun..."
"My friend..."
"Come here Jae..."
"Follow me Jae..."Four distinct honey like voices dragged him with them and when he came out of the spell those voices were casting on him, he found himself standing in between a vast ground where no source of light was present.
He gasped at the sight. There were dead bodies scattered on the ground looking like some kind of trash.
Stains of blood along with it's metallic smell was making him go insane.
He backed away but was pushed forward by some unknown force until he found himself standing in between the four dead bodies of his friends.
His voice was struck in his throat. No matter how much he tried to scream, he just couldn't.
Seconds after, the flesh on the bodies began to disappear slowly. It felt like someone was snatching the flesh away from the bodies, leaving only the bones behind.
The sight was horrible, too horrible for him. In order to avoid the scene, he tried covering his eyes but again those voices interrupted him,"Jaehynie is a scaredy cat."
"Jae is a weak boy."
"You can't face this..."The voices were followed by a laughter.
He didn't think twice before running away from there. He ran through the empty and creepy corridors screaming for help but was there any help?, no there wasn't any.
After minutes of circling around those corridors, that felt never ending; he finally spotted a door.
He ran in it's direction and tried opening it.
To his surprise, the door opened and he was able to see the place, from where he had entered along with his now dead friends.
He sighed heavily and ran outside never looking back.
Night was darker than usual but jaehyun was running through the dark streets alone. He was barefooted but he didn't care. He just wanted to end up in his mother's warm embrace that moment.
After hours of running, he stopped to catch his breath.
His breathing got intense and unable to control himself any further, he allowed darkness to consume him.
His body collapsed on the floor Infront of the dumpster that was his solo source of support a minute earlier.
"Jae, open your eyes please, baby are you alright?" his mother's comforting voice was the first thing he heard.
He slowly opened his eyes, only to find himself lying on the bed with his parents beside him on each side.
"How are you feeling now?" this time his father questioned while gently tapping his cheeks.
He just looked around his bedroom. Yes, like every other day he ended up in his bedroom today too.
"Mom, dad where was I? Where did you find me?" he questioned instead of answering.
"Please jae try to understand you are staying here in your room for past six months. You haven't left this place not even for a single second." his mother said with tears now staining her cheeks.
"But I was there in that creepy place. My f-friends B-ben, Sameul...." his voice was cut off.
"Please Jaehyun you are saying this for the past six months. You never had any friends and if you are going to be like this then you aren't going to get any your whole life." his father sighed and left the room afterwards.
Jaehyun just kept on staring in his father's direction until he disappeared.
"Mom you believe me right? You know that they all died that day. You know that we went to that old creepy place that day. You know everything right?" he questioned his mother, on the verge of breaking down.
"Jae, please take some rest. Your therapist is on the way. He'll be here soon." said his mother and left him alone too.
"Weak boy."
"Jae is a scaredy cat."
"No one will believe you..."These voices lingered in his head just like every other day.
He was sure he had gone through that incident six months ago but no one believed him, rather everyone just mocked him or made him believe that he was Insane.
His head began to hurt and he fainted just like every other day...
Do you believe jaehyun?
The End!
