Serena
I jerked awake hearing a door slam, furious spanish penetrating the air as my heart sank knowing who's causing it.
My bedroom door flew open and my sister launched herself in my bed, an incoherent mess once she saw my bruises and hugged me tightly. I swallowed a knot in my throat and blinked back tears as she pet my head, softly mumbling encouraging words in spanish.
"Mira como te dejo." (Look how he left you)
She croaked, her voice cracking at the last word. I kept hugging her tightly molding my body on hers.
Her arms wrapped around me and we laid on my bed not saying a word, our presence enough for each other at that moment. She smoothed my hair out of my face and placed a kiss on top of my head. Her beautiful green eyes roamed all over my face searching for any emotions, my eyes softened letting her study me. I snuggled closer to her, putting my head on her chest.
"I'm okay Camilla, te lo prometo." (I promise you)
I said softly intertwining my fingers with hers.
She scoffed and kept petting my hair,
"Como que fine Serenita? You were assaulted and have every right to not be okay."I contemplated her words, I knew she was right, but Santiago's words really settled when he brought up that the guy is never going to be able to hurt me or anyone again.
I clutched her hand softly,
"I know but he can't hurt me or anyone anymore, he's done for Cami."
I said, hoping my words would soothe her worries, which quickly backfired on me seeing her sparkling eyes darken."He would've been done for on the spot had I gotten here earlier. I would've cut him up and shoved his d-"
I lightly smacked her arm, her glowering gaze not relenting. I kept my eyes on her as I started playing with her fingers, reaching them up pretending to bite them which earned a laugh from her. Both of us tussled on the bed trying to tickle one another, seeing that Camilla had about five inches on me, I easily was subdued, screaming my brothers and Dom's name for help, which they denied me by Ramiro recording and Dom eating an apple.
After raising the white flag my sister hugged me tightly again, not letting me go until I told her I had to do my morning routine. She kissed me on the forehead and stayed sitting on my bed. After freshening up I walked out and saw my sister's puzzled gaze.
"Why the ten thousand knots?" She said raising up the familiar white bag, I had completely forgotten about Santiago's gift and made grabby hand gestures at her, practically ripping it knowing I wasn't going to have the patience to untie it.
My whole body froze seeing what its contents were. Inside the bag were two honey buns, a bag of peach rings, and a sweet tea. My munchie meal.
My sister didn't even blink at all the sweet treats, being a spicy girl herself, she rarely ate sweets.
"Could've at least gotten some hot chips."
She deadpanned while getting up to leave the room, stopping at my doorway seeing me still staring at the treats.
"Don't even think eating that for breakfast, I'm cooking."My stomach rumbled once she said that, shooting her a sheepish smile at seeing her rolling her eyes.
The boys went on their morning workout and left me and Camilla alone, both of us cracking up at the most random things and catching up with details we've missed in our messages or calls.
