Presently, the shopkeeper returned accompanied by an elderly gentleman, who bore the title of Master Li, the esteemed alchemist of Yuan Auction.

"How may I be of service to our esteemed patrons?" inquired Master Li with an air of deference.

Wei Lanying proffered a vial to Master Li.

"Master Li, the Bone Marrow Cleansing Pill," she announced.

Master Li had first looked the vial. Bone marrow cleansing pills were low ranked pill but making them required effort and time. That first he was rather perturbed. Later when examining the pill, Master Li voiced his incredulity.

"Who is the mastermind behind this creation? Never before have I beheld such unparalleled quality in a low-grade elixir."

"Will these pills be made available for sale?" interjected Wei Lanying.

"Of course," Master Li affirmed.

Her attention was drawn to an egg conspicuously displayed, seemingly devoid of any worth.

"Master Li, why is that egg presented in such a manner?" she inquired, sensing an inexplicable resonance with the egg, compelling her towards its acquisition.

"That is a dead egg. The creature within has perished within its shell," Master Li explained solemnly.

"How much for that egg?" Wei Lanying pressed, her conviction unshaken.

"My lord, that egg was unearthed by Yuan Auction thirty years prior, and despite our best efforts, it remains unyielding, its warmth long faded," Master Li urgently detailed. "Our beast masters have confirmed its demise."

"I care not. I am prepared to purchase it," Wei Lanying insisted.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Master Li summoned the Elder of Yuan Auction, knowing full well the significance of appeasing such formidable patrons.

"Elder Ning!" Master Li hastened to apprise the elder of the matter.

"Sell the egg, but at a modest price," Elder Ning decreed, aware of the unwavering determination exhibited by individuals of their ilk.

"It shall be twenty silver taels," Master Li declared.

Bai Ting Ping's expression betrayed astonishment at the seemingly low price. Recalling the usual costs of spiritual beast eggs, she reflected on the discrepancy; a Black Dove egg typically commanded forty taels, despite their modest status as avian messengers. Yet, here Wei Lanying acquired one, albeit deceased, for a mere twenty silver taels.

After acquiring the egg, Wei Lanying and Bai Ting Ping departed from the auction house. Bai Ting Ping couldn't shake the feeling that her lady's purchase was inexplicable. Meanwhile, Wei Lanying joined her father and brothers for lunch.

"Junfeng, what troubles you?" General Wei inquired, noting his son's troubled demeanor.

"Yuan Auction sold the bone marrow cleansing pill," Wei Junfeng said.

"Did you intend to purchase it, Feng'er?" Asked General Wei.

"Yes. I needed that pill to cleanse my marrow and break through to the gold core stage," Wei Junfeng lamented.

"Incredible!"

"Why couldn't you buy the pill?" WeiYingjie inquired.

"I couldn't meet the asking price," Wei Junfeng sighed, his expression crestfallen. "It sold for three hundred silver taels."

Wei Lanying was taken aback to learn that her pill had fetched twice the usual price for such a pill.

Why such a cost?" she interjected.
