Shubman walked out to the verandah of their house to find his father immersed in reading the Bhagwad Gita. Without a word, he took a seat beside him. "Pranam, Baba," Shubman greeted respectfully. "Pranam, beta," Mr. Gill replied, looking up from his book. Shubman glanced around for the newspaper.
"Kya baat hai, aaj akhbar nahi aaya?" he inquired. "Nahi aaya. Is ghar mein bas tumhi ho jo akhbar padhte ho, warna sab toh aise hi hai," Mr. Gill remarked, a hint of pride in his voice. "Aap bhi toh aate ho sab mein," Shubman retorted.
Mr. Gill shot him a stern look, silencing him immediately. "Ishu ko kahin ghuma ke le aao," Mr. Gill instructed. "Kahan leke jaaye, Baba?" Shubman asked. "Aaj khet dikha laao kyunki kal Ishu ko tum chod ke aaoge uske ghar," Mr. Gill explained.
"Unke ghar kyun?" Shubman questioned. "Kya matlab kyun? Ek din toh rahega. Usko apne ghar ki yaad nahi aati kya?" Mr. Gill chided. "Acha thik hai, hum le jayenge kal," Shubman agreed. "Thik hai," Mr. Gill nodded. The conversation veered toward the village and their memories. Ishan entered the verandah and respectfully touched his father-in-law's feet.
"Pranam, Baba," Ishan greeted. "Pranam, beta. Ache se soye na kal," Mr. Gill reminded. "Ji, Baba," Ishan acknowledged. "Achi baat hai. Ye agar pareshan kare toh batana," Mr. Gill advised, eyes twinkling mischievously. Shubman glanced at his father in disbelief. "Kya, Baba, aap bhi?" he exclaimed.
"Sahi toh keh rahe hain. Humare damad ko pareshan kiya na toh dekhna," Mr. Gill said, making Ishan chuckle. "Baba, agar ye pareshan karenge, toh hum aapke paas aayenge," Ishan teased. "Han, beta, yehi karna. Fir main isko marunga," Mr. Gill replied, joining in the banter.
Shubman sighed and stayed silent as Ishan announced that breakfast was ready. "Aaiye, nashta taiyar hai," Ishan invited. "Thik hai, chalo," Mr. Gill accepted, leading the way to the dining table. Shubman followed behind, the warmth of family filling the air.
Shubman reached the dining table and sat there while Ishan also sat beside him. Mrs. Gill came and sat beside Mr. Gill while the servant served them the breakfast. "Suniye ji, aaj ka nashta Ishu ne banaya hai," Mrs. Gill said proudly.
"Sach me, ye toh bahot achi baat hai," Mr. Gill said. Shubman took a bite and moaned at the taste of it. "Bahot acha banaya hai, Ishan aapne toh," Shubman said. "Thank you, ji," Ishan said while blushing.
After breakfast, Ishan came to their room and saw his husband, Shubman, working at the study table. Curious, he approached Shubman and observed what he was doing. Shubman glanced at him and smiled. "Kya baat hai?" Shubman asked.
"Aap kya kar rahe ho?" Ishan inquired. "Kuch nahi bas ye kuch kitabein thi jo main Delhi se laya tha wahi padh raha tha," Shubman replied. "Aap Delhi gaye ho?" Ishan questioned. "Han," Shubman confirmed. "Hame bhi jana hai," Ishan said.
Shubman led him to the bed and helped him sit down. "Ham jayenge priye...," Shubman said, making Ishan blush. "Aapse kuch puchna tha," Ishan said. "Pucho," Shubman replied. "Aapko angrezi aati hai? Aisi baat nahi hai ki hame nahi aati par bahot kam aati hai," Ishan explained.
Shubman chuckled. "Hame aati hai angrezi, aur agar aap chaho, toh ham aapko padha sakte hai," he offered. "Sach me? Aap hame padhayenge?" Ishan asked. "Jarur," Shubman said. Ishan grinned and hugged Shubman tightly. Shubman was surprised but hugged him back with a smile. Ishan broke the hug and looked at him. "Thank you, ji," Ishan said.
"You're welcome, ji," Shubman said. Shubman gazed into Ishan's eyes, then his lips. Ishan unconsciously licked his lips, making Shubman feel a surge of emotions. Ishan looked down, feeling shy under Shubman's gaze.
Shubman lifted Ishan's chin and kissed his forehead, then both his eyes, making Ishan close his eyes. He kissed Ishan's nose and both his cheeks, making him even more bashful. Shubman paused before Ishan's lips, searching for any discomfort in his eyes, but he found none.
However, he didn't want to do anything without Ishan's consent, so he stepped back and sat on the bed. Ishan remained silent, not because he was uncomfortable but because of his shy nature. "Ham maa ke paas hai," Ishan said and left the room.
Shubman exhaled deeply. He knew Ishan was shy and it would take time for him to open up, but he couldn't wait for that moment.
Shubman watched Ishan leave the room, feeling a mix of emotions swirling within him. He understood Ishan's shyness and respected his boundaries, but at the same time, his heart longed to express the depth of his love for Ishan in every possible way.
As he sat alone in the room, Shubman reflected on their journey together. From the moment they met, he knew there was something special about Ishan. His innocence, his genuine heart, and his unwavering love had captured Shubman's soul completely.
But Shubman also realized that building a strong foundation in their relationship required patience and understanding. He was willing to wait for Ishan to feel comfortable and secure in their bond, knowing that their love would only grow stronger with time.
Determined to support Ishan in every way possible, Shubman made a mental note to create a safe and nurturing environment where Ishan could flourish and explore his true self without any fear or hesitation.
Around 4 o'clock, Shubman woke Ishan who was taking his afternoon nap while he was busy reading a book. "Priye...utho..' Shubman shook Ishan who whinnied. "Utho warna hame deri ho jayegi' Shubman said. Ishan woke up and looked at him.
"Hame deri kyun hogi?' Ishan asked cutely. "Hamne kaha tha na ki hame khet dekhne jaana hai chlo' Shubman said. "Oh han ham abhi taiyar hoke aaye' Ishan said and went to get ready. After sometime both of them came downstairs ready to go to the farm.
"Maa ham jaa rahe hai' Shubman called. "Thik hai aaram se jana aur ishu ka dhyan rakhna aur thoda jaldi aana' Mrs Gill said. "Thik hai' Shubman said and both of them went ou. They were walking towards their farm while Ishan was holding Shubman's hand as this village and people are new for him.
Everybody was smiling at the newlyweds making Ishan shy while a soft smile was playing on Shubman's lips. Soon they reached their farm and Shubman showed them their field and they sat by the field on a rock.
"Aap ko bhi kheti badi aati hai?' Ishan asked. "Han jyada nahi par thodi thosi kam ke silsile main kabhi mauka nahi mila' Shubman said. Ishan nodded his head. "Waise priye ek baat batao' Shubman said. "Ji' Ishan said.
"Jab baba mera rishta leke aaye the tumhare baba ke paas tab tumhe kaisa laga tha" Shubman asked while playing with plants nearby. "Us din ham sham ko apne dosto se milkar ghar aaye toh maa ne hame bulaya, hame laga hamne kuch kar diya hoga toh ham chup chap maa ke paas chale gaye. Par udhar jaake pata chala ki hamare liye rishta aaya hai aur sach batayein toh aapka hi rishta hamare pas pehli baar aaya tha. Phir baba ne hame ek chitthi di jisme aapke bare me sab likha tha bas aapki tasveer nahi thi. Par pata nahi kyun hame aisa laga ki aapse shaadi karke ham bahot khush honge isiliye hamne han keh di' Ishan said with a blush.
Shubman smiled showing his dimples and hug Ishan tightly. "Tumhe pata hai priye jab hame baba ne bataya ki tumne haa kar di hai us din ham itne khush huye jitne hame hamari naukri lagne par nahi hua tha' Shubman said making Ishan smiled.
"Aap jo naukri karte hai usme alag alag jagah jaate hai na' Ishan asked. "Han' Shubman said. "Toh kya aap hame bhi leke jayenge aapke saath' Ishan said. "Kyun nahi priye, tumhare bina ham kahin nahi jaaenge' Shubman said and they both laughed.
They spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing. Ishan was so happy to be with Shubman. He felt like he had finally found his home.
