Pulkit's POV

Her face actually lost colour when she realised what happened, or what she did this morning. But then, she seriously lied to a police officer on his face. I could see the challenge in her eyes. Challenge, she was throwing at me openly. It was more like 'ugalva sako toh ugalva lo'.
Daring, huhhh!!!
I could have achieved my objective if that idiot hadn't intruded our about-to-get-intense convo.

"Bhai hanger rakh lia kya muh mein?

Theek ho na?

Ya fir 'aap se milkar achha laga' moment ho gya aapka? Kyun mom???" Amish said side-eyeing mischievously at me.

"You can tell us, you know that right? Do you like her already???" I coughed vigorously when mom straight-forwardly questioned me. My dear eyes widened thinking what she could be talking about.

"Kya mom??? Thoda aur maze lene dete yaar bhai ke." Amish complained.
Mom muttered sorry biting her tongue.

WHAT.IS.GOING.ON...???

"What are you people talking about?"

"Betaji, seems like not just your mom but Gargi's mumma was also looking for a suitable boy for her," Dad said.

"SO?" I asked telling him to continue.

"She found one this evening."

"WHO?" I asked somewhat panicking.

"Oho! Bhai ka chehra toh dekho, ek dum tamatar ki tarah laal ho chuka hai"
He's definitely got a death wish tonight.

Mom held my hands and made us sit on sofa.

"Bacche, Gajra and Jatin ji really liked you this evening. Moreover, everyone noticed the way you were not-so-secretly-looking at Gargi and how she was shyly avoiding your gaze. So after dinner, when we were having our super-adult talk, we wished..."

SHITTTT!!!
Was it so evident???
Man, you were careless. EVERYONE caught you.
What would uncle auntie think of me?
Obviously, some creep gawking at their daughter. <my inner devil>

"You wished???" I asked her to continue. Why are they being so dramatic about it, just say it already.

"If you two could think about getting married?"

"Haan toh shaadi toh krni hi hai na kabhi na kabhi maa" I replied to her confusing statement.

"Haan par Gargi se krega SHAADI???" she said. My eyes widened an inch more than before.

"Seedha shaadi" I asked not being in my senses.

"Tch, Bhoomi ji! Told you, this generation dates before getting to shaadi vala part. Even some are into live-in thing, but let me tell you my boys that's so not happening in this house."

"Nhi dad, I'm not into live-in. I mean, we don't even know each other properly yet, how can we high jump to marriage. And don't start with your and mom's arrangement."

"Hawwwwwwww!!!! You mean to say you doubt Gargi's integrity that she could be some laalchi, ghar-todhu, aag lagane vali bahu-"

"Heyiiiii, don't you utter a word against my Gargi" mom scowled at Amish on his nonsensical drama.

Ek minute MY GARGI??? When did that happen?

"I need time mom dad. How can I-"

"12 hours. We give you 12 hours, prepare yourself. Tomorrow sharp at 11 you have an official breakfast date with Gargi Ahuja. And no 'important case' excuse."

"Ram Balak ji se baat ho gyi hai meri" Dad said.

That's it! They even called my work place to confirm my schedule.
Mom ordered and went back to her room. As usual dad followed her. Amish smugly smiled at me and wished me luck. Like what the fuck???

Gargi's POV

"Mumma don't you think, it's injustice to poor Pulkit. Ab hum apne ghar ka kuda kaise dede use, yahin pade rehne do ise."

This idiot is craving my chappal, I see.

"GUDDU!!!" Papa glared at him. Good, he deserves it.

"Guri di, vaise I toh liked him very much. He just gives those nice jiju vibes. What say?"

"But I don't even know him yet mumma. What if he's alcoholic or drug addict or gambler or disloyal... or worse wife beater-"

"Kya bole ja rhi hai Guri. He's NOTA, in your language. He's my friend's son, beta. Moreover, we met him today na, he's so sanskari-"

"Just because he touched your feet, he is sanskari. Great."

"Haan toh that's also a factor to be considered na, vrna aaj kal ke bachche kahan paer chhute hain."

"Achha, what if he already has someone in his life?" I presented my biggest argument cum fear.

"He doesn't, Guri. Bhoomi assured me, or else she wouldn't have initiated the topic of marriage."

"But still mumma how can I decide to marry someone, I met few hours ago. Tell her na papa."

"For that, we have planned an official breakfast date for you guys tomorrow at 11. Meet him then with a different perspective, get to know him and tell us your decision. You know na bachcha we would never force you into anything." Papa explained as usual in his sweet as ganne ka rass tone. Then what, as usual I gave in.

"But Guri, he's a really nice man. I can tell that." He said and I believed.
No doubt.

Mumma papa left to their room after giving their one of the greatest speeches to me.

"Chinta mat kar. Pulkit mana hi krega, I TRUST HIM."

"Tu chappal khayega ya sandal?"
Next second I find him running to his room.

"Don't worry Guri di. Just be you. Full confident, masaledaar. Just the way you were this morning after bumping into his bike, and pretending this evening as if nothing happened. And I'm hella' confident on your driving skills, that he wasn't at fault."

"How-" I gasped.

"Tch. I know everything, don't you know that." She smiled at me.

Man, she knows.
AND I WAS NOT AT FAULT. I can only take the accountability of 40%, okay, that's max from my side.

"I can tell from the looks he was giving you that he might have been smitten by you, even Amish bhaiya thinks so." She left making me blush a little.

Kya Gannu ji, maine toh aise hi kaha tha, situation ki demand thi, aap to sachhi mein hi PULKIT ARORA ko mera husband banane ki planning kr rhe ho.

What to do now? I can't sleep with so many questions in my head.
I must do what I'm great at.
SOME STALKING is not injurious to health.
<evil smirk>
