AN- This wasn't requested by anyone, I just wanted some more Gingi angst. After replaying through most of Dialtown recently, I got reminded of how much of a shit stain Theoroar is. Such as in Karen's route when he suggests dissecting Gingi (which, considering they have a stitched up area on their chest, I am slightly curious if he's already tried that-), or in Oliver's where after you punch the emu Gingi specifically states that he loves to punch animals. And, considering he sees Gingi as such... yeah I'm sure that may mean he has physically abused the cryptid at some point. Anyway, this is going off the "5 things + 1" I've seen a lot of oneshots use. For ships, well basically it's Gingix the dateables since they canonically dated(?)(The whole different timeline thing is confusing lmao), but the rest is up to interpretation. Although Norm is most certainly meant to be parental-

Anywayyyy, here be the warnings

Physical Abuse (mentioned, applied, and lightly shown)

Verbal Abuse

Slight Violence (Nothing too deep)

Racism(? I think that's what I'd call it for how Theoroar treats Gingi)

Treating someone like an object

I think thats it? Lmk if I missed anything-

Now onto thy oneshot!

Phonegingi sure never expected this to be the aftermath after dating people to get into the funfair for their babies, but as it turns out they had been hiding the very empathetic/sympathetic side of themself for awhile. They had never felt such feelings like this before they met their friends, lovers and family, and it felt so good. Love was a feeling that they never thought anyone would make them feel, nor that someone would feel for THEM. But, here they were, content with their new life.

Well, of course their past wasn't simply gone, the bastard who gave them nightmares and something called PT? (PTSD Gingi, not Physical Therapy or a canceled demo.) was not only in town, but seemed to not get it through his metal head to just accept that the cryptid wasn't his any longer. So, unfortunately his old life at the zoo would every now and then rear its traumatizing mustache (Uh how can a mustache be traumatizing? "Cease speak narrator"). He usually made sure to do it when PhoneGingi was alone, but to the green one's surprise whenever he tried so around those they cared about, they always defended them.

The first time after the whole shootdown between Norm and Mingus was while Gingi and Randy were talking at the Funfair. Abel had been hit by a reality check from the cowboy and now had to be used to treating his employees and customers with respect, and actually being a decent boss. So Randy was now being paid enough money for his job, and was on his way to being able to afford an apartment again. As well, he now had lunch breaks, which Gingi usually tried to spend with him. Randy was surprised that the talks with the cryptid were much more enjoyable now. They still were feral and, well themself, but due to actually socializing pleasantly now along with their addictions, mental problems etc being helped out, they were a lot more enjoyable. Randy shouldn't have been surprised that something would interrupt it, but he wasn't expecting it to be Theoroar. The man honestly scared him for the longest time, so he was very uncomfortable with going to the zoo. As such he hadn't been aware of Gingi's... captivity until much more recently. He didn't know a lot about everything though, but he could feel the other tense, and certainly could hear the snarl as they noticed him.

"Ah my star specimen! Finally, I had been curious about where you were!" Randy's optical sensors widened seeing their reaction. They were feral, obviously. But, it wasn't common to see them like this, on fight or flight, looking like a wounded and/or terrified animal. It wasn't often he felt protective, as he usually was a coward, but he immediately wrapped an arm around them.
