I remember when I first noticed that you liked me back ~Moon
Shin Hyun Woo was struggling to go through the people who were dancing to the loud music of the party. He was trying to find the house's bedroom, that's where he had left his coat.
Why was he even from the start here?
His friends pressured him to go to the popular kid's party. Just because they "want him to not be looked down as the outsider" or whatever. He finally found the bedroom, slowly opened the door and got in. His eyes scanned through the darkness of the room. It felt safe. Quiet, away from everyone else. Comfortable, and no one was staring, judging nor making fun of him.
He suddenly heard someone sniffing and crying. He looked down towards the bed and from the dim light of the street lights outside, he saw a person.
The person was sitting on the floor, hugging a bottle of wine. As if he was waiting for someone to come in.
Oh.
And Hyun Woo was the lucky one to find the person.
One of his classmates, he always felt invisible to him. He was sitting two desks in front. Hyun woo never got the courage to approach him or talk to, even though he always noticed the boy. He knew his name was Seo Byung-hee, and his nickname (only a few people call him that) was "Moon".
Byung-hee looked up and met Hyun Woo's gaze.
Oh, these eyes. Two moons glowing on their own.I saw sparks ~Hyun Woo
Moon was teary eyed and a little tipsy. His walls were now low and trust was everywhere in the atmosphere between these two.
Not cold as he usually seems like, but now vulnerable. His expressions were kind and gentle.
Hyun Woo sat down with Byung-hee . They sat at first in a comfortable silence, stealing glances from each other.
Think I like you best when you're just with me
And no one else"Call me Moon" Byung-hee broke the silence.
But Hyun Woo knew.
"Something happened tonight and I'm not okay" Byung-hee, or should i say Moon, continued.
His eyes, a bit unfocused because of the alcohol, were glowing brighter than usual, digging holes into Hyun Woo's brown eyes and through his whole body. Hyun Woo could feel the warmth comforting his insides.
Like the stars, that give their last light so bright before they fall on earth, leaving a trace behind them that will stay forever there, marking earth with their last remainings.
Hyun Woo wanted to listen. And so Byung Hee talked.
"I kissed a boy but I can't remember who"
Hyun Woo stayed silent and didn't answer.
"That's why I'm talking to you. Your silence is like gold. While others always have to something to say, without even listening to what I have said" Byung Hee smiled.
"I'm opening up my heart to you. I'll tell you my deepest desires and secrets" Moon added.
Oh how connected you feel with a person you barely know, just because they showed they cared enough to listen, something you've never been showed before.
Hyun Woo couldn't understand what he felt. This Moon, who was just sitting on a bunch of coats as if it was his throne, drunk and tired, made his mind feel at ease, a bond creating while they share every inch of their souls.
Hyun Woo was observing and reading Moon trying to understand what had hurt him so much to crawl into a hole, scared to get out. And how he gave him he courage to go out and see the daylight.Moon knew well all the lyrics of the songs, the songs that talked about a boy-
"Would you mind if I hugged you?" Moon asked.
"No, not at all"They cuddled while Moon was talking to Hyun Woo. It felt like a lullaby Moon was whispering to himself, only this time someone was there to listen.
My heart is yoursIt's you that I hold on to ~Moon
There was a comfortable silence around them, until Byung Hee said to Hyun Woo,
"I'm sorry I hadn't approached you earlier."
"I also wanted to talk to you" Hyun Woo admitted, whispering.
"I know you. I know how you're different from others. Please don't change that, don't try to be like them."I don't need to change if you accept me for who I am.
"I know you write lyrics. I never told anyone because everyone always makes fun of that. They think whoever is in pain, is a joke. Nowadays they think that what matters is to show you're okay." Moon continued.
The comfortable silence was again broken when Hyun Woo asked,
"What do you want to do, when others won't judge and talk bad about it, maybe not even care?"
"I want to dance without anyone looking at me. No making fun, no judging, not even flirting" the other answered.Byung Hee slowly got up and offered Hyun Woo his hand.
"Moon?" Hyun Woo said, confused. He called out Moon's name because that's the only thing he thought of.
He grabbed Moon's hand.
Moon placed both his hands on Hyun Woo's waist and rested his head on his shoulder.
They spinned around the room, slowly, gently, humming along a calm song of their own.
"When I'm tired i want to lay down, to sleep alone and dream of an empty beach and a vast, empty, blue ocean." Byung Hee said as they were barely even moving.
Hyun Woo listened and stared at Moon. He had a honesty in his glowing brown eyes. Moon talked with a soft tone that made Hyun Woo feel a calmness he's never felt before.
His thin hair was red like blood and his face had something so special and precious, Hyun Woo couldn't find the right words to describe it and he just wanted to protect it. He fell in love with Moon.
And as if Moon noticed it, he broke the hug and sat down again.
"You're so strong. And thank you for your trust in me, to vent about these things" Hyun Woo said.
Even though throughout these past minutes Hyun Woo hadn't said much, his eyes were telling everything. But Moon looked at him, not smilling at all, saying;
"Don't write a word about me. I'm not strong, I'm a coward."
.
Moon's lullaby, no one has ever known before. A secret being shared only between these two.
"Let's go home" Hyun Woo said after a while.
"I'm good. My home is close, I'll go alone. Don't say a word about tonight anywhere." Byung Hee said shaking his head.
Is this where our story ends? I want to talk to you again, Hyun Woo thought.
"If our lives were a movie at the cinema, now it would be the scene where we kissed, but..." Byung Hee chuckled and left his sentence incomplete. Just like them.
Hyun Woo looked away shyly. Byung Hee laughed and pat his soft hair.
"If only we had met somehow, earlier, under other circumstances, and fall in love"
Hyun Woo felt his insides burn, being torn and his throat started hurting, his eyes teared up.
Stay with me, I don't want you to leave ~ Hyun Woo
But he managed to breathe out:
"Have a safe walk home, Moon"
