Sophistication
An air of sophistication filled the air.
A lovely lady, tall and fair.
Equipped with the most delightful grin,
She sashayed, waltzed, even a spin.
But as the night grew dark and damp,
Each light flickered out, even the lamps.
Her eyes shone through, deep and brown,
Her smile now turned to a frown.
She let out the most ferocious yowl,
A tantrum fit as she howled and howled.Hello Aesthetes!
Here we have with us JustAnotherKaiHere one of our day winners of the following day:

🔺️ Day 4: Kaput
🔺️ Day 5: Sophisticated
of versification 2023.🎈1. What was your favourite prompt in Versification?
I loved Tranquil! Though I may not have won, and I'm honestly not too proud of my poem, it was my favorite word to work with in future poems I wrote based off of the word.
🎈2. Share with us your favourite poem/entry you wrote for versification.
I loved my winning poem 'Sophisticated (Challenge)'. It was one of the poems I put the most thought into, and it has a certain flow and storyline that I love.
🎈3. What are three words that you'd describe your writing?
Creative, thoughtful, fun.
🎈4. What is the inspiration behind your poetry/writing?
I honestly was inspired by my language teachers over the years, encouraging me to begin poetry, and then to start entering contests and such. I owe a lot to their support and wouldn't have entered in contests without them.
🎈5. Do you have a favourite Poet or Poetress?
To be completely honest, I prefer to write poetry over reading it, but if I had to choose somebody it would be my friend, who I also see as my mentor.
🎈6. What was your favourite part of Versification?
I The easiness and accessibility of it, and how understandable it was. Some contests I refrain to enter because they are too complicated, but Versification was simple & easy to understand.
🎈7. If you could meet one poet, dead or alive, who would it be?
Edgar Allan Poe. What went through his head as he wrote?
🎈8. What style of poetry/writing do you write normally?
Normally I write ABAB or ABCB pattern rhyming, sometimes I write limericks with an AABBA format, but recently my friend encouraged me to start trying to write funny poems without rhymes.
🎈9. What is your favourite poem you've ever written and what inspired it or is the story behind it?
My favorite poem ever written is called 'Flower', and it's a Genshin-based poem on Hoyolab in a poetry contest to win a Welkin Moon. I put a lot of thought into it, and I absolutely love how it came out!
🎈10. Anything you'd like to add or say?
Thank you so much for hosting this competition, and I look forwards to participating in the future.
