Room Of Requirements

Level 8.2

The boys scattered around , Theo tuned back bumping into Felix. He asked ' I presume you're heading to Prik's room ? ' , the youngest nodded and they dashed towards the opposite direction. Pax had ran to the third suspect - Day's dorm room. He opened all the drawers , his attention lean towards the pill bottle on the floor. The boy thought to himself , ' Sleeping pills..Is this how he killed Maple ..? '. His eyes followed the bottle rolling down under the bed. He stretched his hands out to fetch it back , oddly weighing like it had nothing. Pax mumbled ' Why is it empty ? '. That's when the boy remembered something he saw somewhere , " I haven't taken my prescribed pills , they went missing. I thought of placing a new order but changed my mind as it didn't help me anyways ". The boy walked around the room in circle trying to recalled where he read that , the cold breeze blew in and it hit him. Pax notified his team " Day's sleeping pills were the ones used found on the crime scene of Maple. But , it was reported missing from June 12 via the complain notes on the box near the class notice board ".

Grey sat on the floor thinking of all the information he has been inputted into " The five suspects , Day , Billy , Mr.Tawan , Prik and Emma. And the three victims Sunny , White and Maple ". He began to remember something that he read on White's workbook. They were unique yet weird rules existed in the St.Andrews High. Some of them were ,

1. Memorize the math equations in the girl's washroom first stall

2. Drink water from the first floor before the final exams

3. Do morning yoga in the science lab before any lab experiments

4. Place offerings to the statue at the back side of the school to avoid bad luck

Grey shook his head in denial , the rules were far stretched and ridiciolous, he couldn't process the fact that the students were brainwashed to believe in them. But , the first one seemed familiar. Then , he remembered how White died. He quickly made a left turn and dashed towards the crime scene.

Felix and Theo pushed open the doors to the well lit Prik's dorm room. Felix had strong feeling that they missed something big when they searched here before. Theo went through the drawers again while Felix squatted and flashed the light under the bed. The layer of dust that began to move at the wind produced by his movements. Felix covered his nose and stretched out his hands lighting up the forgotten space. The cobwebs , torn cloth pieces , rotten empty chips packets but one thing at the corner caught his attention. The crumbled paper , he grabbed it and laid out neat on the table straightening the folded edges. Felix didn't know what it was but it had Prik's name on it so it must be one of her belongings. He tapped the oldest and gesturing him to look at what he found. Theo picked up the paper and his face slowly changed to a mysterious expression. Felix became puzzled and nudged the older to explain. He said ' Let's gather others '.

Meanwhile Pax opened the doors to the second crime scene , almost passing out at the dark figure standing in front of him. He took a deep breathe and recalled the martial arts lesson but instead  he heard the voice of Grey , laughing at him. Pax sighed as he wished he could crawl onto the hole of that toilet , the embarrasment was killing him. Grey was still laughing at the older but stopped as he saw him shooting death lasers at him. Pax asked ' What are you doing here ? '. Grey teased ' Shopping , Heard the toilet paper is cheap '. The older couldn't help but sigh again at Grey's attempt of being sarcastic. Pax pulled himself together and threw a question ' White sat here , then slipped , hit her head and the killer hang her with the straps from her bag..? '. Grey spoke ' And that's where I'm kinda stuck. I skimmed the schedules of everything that was pasted in the big board while he were in the staff room searching Mr.Tawan's desk. First , Why was she there at 10 pm ? '. Pax answered ' Cause of the weird rule " Memorize the math equations in the girl's washroom first stall " , they had mock exams on the first week of June '. Grey threw another question ' Then , How did she get there at 10 pm , way past the school hours '. Pax seemed to ponder awhile before answering him ' White is not as rich as Sunny or Maple to able to afford a condo. Thus she lived in the dorm, that's inside the school campus. As a person living inside the campus for years, you would  know all the ways to get through everywhere '. Grey had another question coming in ' Then , how did she slip ? The janitors clean the campus twice , once before the school hour at like 7.30 am then after the school hours that must be around 5.30 pm. So , that must leave out the fact that floor would be dry and not slippery cause there wasn't any sign of usage. As a person who has experience in slipping and injuring themselves , I must say White had to hit her head on that toilet while slipping backwards'. Pax took a few steps back , he flashed the light on the tiled floor. Grey gestured at something , the white substance stuck in the gaps between the tiles just outside the door of the first stall. Pax exclaimed quietly ' I think we just solved how she was killed '. Pax ran back to others while Grey walked towards another crime scene.
