The Bug House, Part 1

There is something missing from our world... the amazing animals that time has left behind. But what if we could bring them back?, what if extinction didn't have to be forever?... We're going back in time on a safari with a difference, as wildlife adventurer Nigel Marven, and a group of Toon kids, plunge into prehistory to rescue creatures on the brink of extinction. Their plan is to bring them back to the safety of the present, and give them a second chance. This time, Nigel and the Toon kids will go back 300,000,000 BC, in prehistoric Scotland, a time when arthropods ruled the world, to rescue some of the largest creepy crawlies in history. Welcome to the ultimate wildlife sanctuary... Welcome to Prehistoric Park.

It was a cloudy day in Prehistoric Park, and it seems that the staff are having a little trouble with the breeding program, like there are either too many babies for the Ornithomimus, or too few in the case of the Smilodon, which Nigel and his team rescued in their last mission. Right now, Suzanne and the girls were watching the Smilodon pair in their enclosure, which was a small breeding enclosure for big cats, so once the Smilodon get cubs of their own, they'll be moved to a proper enclosure, that is if the female Smilodon wasn't such a fussy feline, which was proved wen she tries to swipe her paw at the male, who was on the other side the wall between him and the female. Serena: "What does she have against the male?" Suzanne: "I don't know... but maybe we should add climbing poles into the enclosure to make them happier and maybe the female will be more accepting to the male." Wilma: "That just might work." Better: "I really hope so... the team didn't rescue these two just so they could go extinct again... speaking of which, what are they gonna bring back this time?" Serena: "I think they're having a meeting with Boney 10 right now, telling them about the mission." said Serena, before the scene changed to show Nigel and his team talking to Boney 10, who was indeed telling them about their next mission. Gidget: "What?!, you can't be serious!, giant... creepy crawlies... as in... bugs?!" Boney 10: "That's right... something wrong about that?" Tommy: "She has a little fear of bugs... ever since she got stung and bitten at the same time by a wasp..." Jokey: "Ouch... that must hurt..." Jokeo: "No kidding... but at least it wasn't a hornet..." Ash: "Great... another girl who's scared of bugs..." said the young Pokémon trainer, as he remembers a certain orange haired girl that was also scared of bugs, especially bug type Pokémon. Gidget: "Well it's not just that wasp sting... my psychic powers don't work on them either... not even my mind reading powers work... so I can't tell what they're thinking... and that makes me nervous..." Nigel: "Don't worry Gidget, it'll be alright..." Jokey: "I still can't imagine it... bugs that were close to being as big as a man?" Boney 10: "Yes, from a time long before the dinosaurs first appeared... and those are creatures the park has yet to have as so far we have either dinosaurs or creatures that cam after them... so this should be a good change." Gidget: "Maybe for you... but not for me..." said Gidget, before Tommy grabs onto her hand. Tommy: "It's okay Gidget, if you don't want to go... we won't force ya." Gidget: "No... I have o go... for I can't let my fear control me... besides... somebody has to be the girl in the rescue team..." Tommy: "Okay... but try not to freak out when we see a big bug, okay?" Gidget: "Well... I'll try..." Boney 10: "Okay... your mission is to bring back a giant dragonfly called Meganeura, a big scorpion called Pulmonoscorpius... and also a large millipede called Arthropleura... and if you can... you can also rescue a prehistoric amphibian called Crassigyrinus in prehistoric Scotland, 300,000,000 BC, got it?" Nigel: "You got it." Jokeo: "But... where are we keeping them?" Boney 10: "I already asked Bob to build the Insect house for the animals to live in... one that's big enough to contain a lot of them if you can get more than one of each species... and even a pond for the Crassigyrinus... good luck." Nigel: "Thanks... okay team... we're on our way." however, before they could head off to the holding pens, they get a call from Bob, telling them that there's a big emergency happening in T-Rex Hill. Bob: "Nigel!, get to T-Rex Hill quickly!, hurry!" called out Bob, as he runs to the T-Rex enclosure, where it seems that Matilda has broken into Terrence's half of the enclosure, and the T-Rex siblings begin to fight one another. Bob managed to fire a tranquilizer gun at Matilda, but for reptiles, the effects will take time to work. Matilda knocks over Terrence, who was now badly injured, especially on his face. Before Matilda could make the killing move, Nigel came to the scene in his jeep, and drives into the enclosure, before using the moving jeep to lure Matilda away from Terrence. It wasn't long before Matilda begins to feel sleepy and fell over, due to the effects of the tranquilizer finally started to work. After the fight was over, Matilda was moved into the holding pens and will stay there until the dividing wall in T-Rex Hill gets repaired and becomes stronger. As for poor Terrence, he was moved into the clinic so the girls would work on helping him recover and all that. Roo: "Mama... I'm really worried about Terrence..." Miss Kanga: "Me too dear... but I'm sure Melody and the others will be able to get him back to full health in no time." Barney: "She's right little Room, the girls will take good care of him." Fred: "Yeah, and in the meantime, let's go build the insect house." Barney: "Good idea Fred, if we're gonna have these bugs, we need a place to put them." said Barney, before he and Fred joined Bob on working on building the insect house. As for Nigel and the rest of his team, they were at the holding pens, packing the stuff they need into a jeep with a roof they will use to carry the creatures to the park once they get captured. Tommy: "Oh man... poor Terrence..." Ash: "I know... I can't believe his own sister would do such a thing..." Pikachu: "Pika..." Jokey: "Yeah... what's her problem?" Jokeo: "I guess T-Rex siblings just don't like being around each other when they're in their teenage years or something..." Gidget: "Well let's not worry about that now... Melody and the others are talking care of him." Tommy: "Yeah... if anyone can help him, it's my sister." Nigel: "That's right, now then... next stop, prehistoric Scotland..." said Nigel, before he and the others went into the jeep, and drove off towards the Time Portal that sends them to the world of prehistoric Scotland, 300,000,000 BC. However, once they got there, the jeeps runs into a swamp, and the waters have caused the engine of the jeep to stop working. Jokey: "Uh... was this supposed to happen?" Ash: "Oh man... we've only just got here and something has already gone wrong..." Nigel: "Don't worry... I'm sure it could be a lot worse... now then... let's go find our targets." said Nigel, before he and the others went off to begin their search for their targets. Meanwhile, back in Prehistoric Park, Melody and the other girls were busy on helping Terrence. Melody: "The poor thing... I know T-Rex are supposed to be like a really dangerous predator... but I can't help but feel sorry for him..." Serena: "I know what you mean..." Sylveon: "Vee, Vee..." Wilma: "Well right now we got a job to do..." Betty: "Yeah... it's time to get Terrence all fixed up." said Betty, as she and the others begin working on healing the injured male T-Rex. Elsewhere in the park, Bob and the other park keepers continued to work on building the Insect House, but then one of the Titanosaurs came to the scene, and it seems to be looking for something. Roo: "What is he looking for?" Miss Kanga: "I'm not sure... plants maybe?" Bob: "That's a possibility... I hope whatever they're looking for, they find it fast and behave themselves, for the last time we need is for them to cause some damage here..." said Bob, as the Titanosaur continues to look for whatever it is he's looking for. Meanwhile, back in prehistoric Scotland, Nigel and the others continued their search for their targets, when suddenly, they see something moving and began following it, until they finally come face to face with what looked like a large millipede creature that lift it's front half to make it look bigger. Jokey: "Wow!, that's one big millipede!" Jokeo: "No kidding!" Nigel: "That's an Arthropleura... one of the creepy crawlies we came here for... what a specimen for Prehistoric Park... if we can catch it..." Tommy: "We need to be careful though... those mandibles look tough..." Nigel: "And there's a chance this thing can squirt cyanide... like modern millipedes or centipedes..." Jokey: "Then how do we get it?" Ash: "Leave that to me... Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" called out Ash, before Pikachu let's out a powerful Thunderbolt attack that gives the large prehistoric millipede a big shock, knocking it out enough to allow Ash to catch it with a Pokéball. Ash: "Alright!, I caught an Arthropleura!" Pikachu: "Pi, Pikachu!" Jokey and Jokeo: "Hooray!" Tommy: "Okay... now that we got the Arthropleura... it's time we get the other targets... right Gidget?, uh... Gidget?" said Tommy, before he noticed that Gidget was frozen in fear as it seems, before Nigel snapped his fingers in front of her to snap Gidget out of her state of shock. Gidget: "Oh... that was one super big creepy crawly..." Nigel: "Luckily for you, that was the biggest around here... the others are a bit smaller..." Gidget: "Good to hear..." Nigel: "Now then... time for our other targets..." said Nigel, before he and the others went off to find their other targets. Meanwhile, back in Prehistoric Park, Bob and the rest of the park keepers were still working on building the Insect House, and then Roo sees Barney and Fred pushing a wheelbarrow full of what looked like stones. Roo: "What's with the stones?" Fred: 'Oh these are for the Titanosaurs of course." Barney: "Yeah, for you see, we remembered that sauropods like the Titanosaurs used to eat stones to help them digest some tough plant matter in their guts... maybe the Titanosaurs are looking for stomach stones to help them with their food." Miss Kanga: "Huh... will it work?" Bob: "Only one way to find out... as soon as we're done here of course." said Bob, as he and the other park continued on building the Insect House, while Barney and Fred began washing the stones with some water. Meanwhile, back in prehistoric Scotland, Nigel and the others finally found a big swarm of Meganeura, the giant dragonflies, flying above a swamp. Ash can see one flying above the frees and tries to wrap his arms and legs around the tree to climb up it to reach the Meganeura. Gidget: "Be careful Ash!." called out Gidget, as Ash finally reaches the top and sees what looked like a female Meganeura, and the young Pokémon trainer catches it with a Pokéball. Ash: "Alright!, I caught a Meganeura!" called out Ash, before he lost his footing and begins to fall down. Luckily for the boy though, Gidget uses her psychic powers to stop Ash from falling and genitally puts him back on the ground safely. Tommy: "Maybe you should have saved that moment after you get down to the ground first..." said Tommy, which made Ash let out a nervous chuckle. There were two males have a dogfight, before one of them stopped and flew away, while the other male landed on a log. Nigel works on trying to get one of his own with a butterfly net that was big, but had a much harder time on catching it than he first thought. Luckily though, he tries to catch the male Meganeura by a technique known for catching modern dragonflies, by filling a long two-handed hand-pumped water pistol with detergent solution to squirt on a Meganeura so that it will fall in the water and become wet, so it can be caught easily. Which worked and gives it to Tommy, who gives it to Ash, who uses a Pokéball to catch it. Suddenly, something bites Nigel's leg and pulls him deep into the waters of the swamp, much to the group's shock and horror. Tommy: "Nigel!" Gidget: "Oh my gosh!" Jokey: "What happened?!" Jokeo: "I don't know!" Pikachu: "Pika!" Ash: "Nigel!, can you hear us?!, Nigel!" called out Ash and the others, who were now all worried about the safety of the time traveling zoologist.
