Hyunjin looked back at the way he had just walked through, it looked so dark and dangerous. He definitely didn't choose a good path back there at the diverging, but he didn't have any other option. He can't go back.
The place he had called his home for eighteen years of life no longer welcomed him. The people he considered family disowned him without a second thought. Deep down he always knew they never saw him as their own but he only had them to lean on. Among everyone, there were some who loved him too and even in the last moments they tried their best to protect him but it was all in vain as their head alpha announced that they would no longer shelter hyunjin.
Hyunjin was a rogue now, no place and no one to call his own and no pack. He is just a line wolf wandering in the woods barely staying alive. It has been almost three days since he left his pack, they did nothing to help him as he set out for his journey. He was only given his belongings and was told to manage the rest. He didn't ask them anything more either because he knew these people won't care even the slightest.
Hyunjin was now alone in the woods, the food he purchased earlier was long finished. He also didn't have any money and the market must be miles away from here and there wasn't a village in sight. Hyunjin takes in a sharp breath, letting out a knowing smile. This is how it's going to end for him. All alone in the jungle.
He was abandoned for the sole reason of having parents of the enemy's pack during the fight that took place sixteen years ago when he was only two years old. The packs take these things very seriously and they show no kindness to the innocents either. Hyunjin had to face the outcome of a situation he wasn't even a part of.
The pack sheltered him only because the pack alpha's brother was his friend. The said alpha had strongly opposed hyunjin leaving the pack but he could only do little to prevent it as his brother was the one in control. Saying goodbye was painful but hyunjin left with a smile because he didn't want to burden anyone for his situation. It was bound to happen.
Hyunjin let the cloth bag fall off his hands and slowly he fell down too. The grass underneath was damp and cold but hyunjin could endure, his eyes settled on the sky over him with a cluster of stars shining brightly along with the full moon. It was a sight to behold, and even in the hardest time hyunjin took the time to appreciate the beautiful sky that always provided him a sense of relief.
Moments later hyunjin bursted out crying, he cried ever so in a melancholic voice, his tears landed right on the grass and he didn't bother to wipe them. It was of no use. Even though he was prepared for such a day, it was still scary nonetheless.
His cries filled the entire forest, it sounded so gloomy yet so melodious. Hyunjin had a pretty voice, that's what he was known for in his previous pack. They always admired his voice. It was hard to accept that fate had chosen such a bad ending for him. His entire life had been bad enough and now he can't even have a peaceful departure. And it frustrated him even more because he had no one to blame.
Deep in the woods, a voice caught his attention. It was the rustling of the bushes not far away. Like some steps of people, a group of people. Hyunjin sat up and scanned his surroundings carefully. What if it's the rogue alphas? Hyunjin finds himself trembling in fear as the steps approach. He can only expect the worse after everything that has happened. The omega closes his eyes shut in a futile attempt to calm himself, and in that moment he hears the footsteps very clearly and can tell that they are near, they can probably even see him now under the moonlight.
The last thing hyunjin hears before fainting was someone call for him and even though very vaguely, he can make out that the voice was soft and gentle, far from what he had expected. He locks eyes with one of them before his body finally gives out of hunger and tiredness.
