"Omg, show me again." My friend Winnie asked, and I showed her we were looking at my engagement ring. I have to admit that when he proposed to me after I said yes, i checked the ring in case it was below my standard

"Enough about the ring. Let's get to the serious topic. Who are you choosing to be your maid of honou?" Margo said, looking serious about her question

"I honestly can't choose between both of you. What if I set up questions for both of you to answer regarding my wedding and whoever as the higher score wins." I suggested to them, and they looked at each other like they were internally communicating, and Winnie spoke up. "Challenge accepted good luck you will need it." She smiled at Margo, who rolled her eyes at Winnie's playful action

"You are so sil-." Margo was cut off by Winnie's ringing phone she looked at the name on her phone and sighed with annoyance

"Who is it?" I asked her, knowing it can't be someone good based on her reaction to the call

"John, he won't leave me alone I don't get his fucking problem with me a break up is a break up." She explained. Winnie and John have been together since high school, where we all met. They were big on couple goals until last year when Winnie found out she was infertile they were both disappointed as they loved children and wanted a big family

Winnie told us that after they found out about her infertility, John attitude did a Complete 360, and when Winnie would talk about how they would just adopt, he would get angry and leave the room

But the times that he did listen, he would tell her that surrogacy was the way to go, but this displeased Winnie call her selfish, but she said she would rather adopt than get another woman to birth her children

This was mainly because of gossip and whispers that may occur because people will find out about her situation, and she is insecure about it

Since last year, they have been fighting, and the relationship was taking a punch at her mental health me and Margo could see it in her face, and then 2 weeks ago, she broke up with him after he said some insensitive things about her condition which hurt her deeply

"He keeps on trying to apologise, saying we could adopt as many children as I wanted like where was this attitude before we broke up." She complained while doing something on her phone

"Just block his entitled ass so he gets the message." Margo suggested, but I know that Winne was too scared to block him she still loved him, but can you blame her they have been together for 9 years

Winnie frowned at Margo's words. "You don't underst-." She said, but Margo cut her off before she could finish "Yea yea I don't know what it feels like to be in a relationship for soooooo long." She stresses the 'o' and continued. "You should just do what I normally do the good old "fuck and dump". She smiled

"Please don't say that." I rolled my eyes at her words "Forget the jerk let talk about the future wife blessing us with her presence." Winnie said "soooo what about t-." She was cut off bye the notification from my phone

"Whose that?" Margo asked "it's Daniel he said he wants to talk to me alone that he was coming over i wonder for what." I told them

"I guess that is our cue to leave see you later bestie." Winnie said standing up from her sit along with Margo and I escorted them to the door and told them bye

I wonder what he wants to talk about I hope it is not a problem from the wedding and if it is then it would be from his side because I was the epitome of perfection I smiled at my thought

A notification from by phone snapped me out of my admiration of myself. I checked, and it was from Daniel saying he was at my door

I went to open it, and there I saw my love. I hugged him and pulled him for a kiss, a hungry one it had been long since we did anything, and I was getting aroused by his presence but he pushed and told me to calm down that he had something important to say

"It my mum." He told me,"What about  your mum," She asked even thou did not care."She was sick and has been for a while, and it has taken an effect on my finances." He explained to her with pained eyes, but she did not care for his mums wellbeing

"Oh dear, you must be so sad by the news." She said with fake sympathy."Yes, I don't know what to do about it, and i was wondering if you could help me with the expenses even if it was just a little ."

"Of course, baby, I send you as much money as you need. Okay, don't worry about it ." She told him smiling."Is that why you were so worried because of money? You know my daddy as loads of it right, or did you forget ." She joked with him

"No, I was just scared you would be disappointed in me." He explained to her." Baby, don't be silly infact if your mother is still sick by the wedding. I will pay for everything we need for the wedding, including the venue, cake, dress, and many more if you like, okay?" She offered

"I love you so much, baby. I don't know what i would do without you in my life. Honestly, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me ." He told her and hugged her

"I know, baby. I know." She whispered to him in a soft voice, playing with his dark hair although she had a thing for blondes and was thinking of convincing him to die his hair blonde

"Can we just relax at home for today." He asked her "Ofcourse I mean you're hurting, so yea." She answered, smiling even though she was annoyed she had planned on going out with her friends before he messaged her

She was starting to get easily irritated by him ever since her proposed to her, and she did not understand why and that worried her because she was growing resentful of his presence even the way they were hugging right now disturb her

She decided she was probably just overwhelmed by the thought of getting married as she was never one to settle down with someone due to how self-centred she was

"So you hungry cause I saw a pasta recipe I wanted to try out with you." Daniel informed her after feeling satisfied with the comfort she was providing him

"Sure." she smiled at him

She was satisfied that she was happy again, and the couple left each others embrace, and they went to the kitchen to bond over their shared love for cooking
