[Eun-ae's POV]
"Oh my god!" Minyoung cries as she squeezes herself between me and Haerin. A few heads snap around to look at her, so she lowers her voice. "Have you seen the new Data Analyst?"
We're in the break room for our morning 15, and Haerin and I were quietly sipping our coffees at one of the high tables lining the glass wall, when Minyoung barged in to destroy our peace.
Haerin shakes her head, although her eyes are already sparkling, obviously intrigued.
"He's so fucking hot!" Minyoung gasps, fanning herself, even though the room is cool because of the centralized air conditioning.
"Minyoung!" Haerin hisses, the tips of her ears turning pink. Minyoung rolls her eyes.
"Sorry, I meant freaking hot."
Haerin is one of those people who never cusses, or says anything she considers "obscene", and is adorably scandalized whenever someone else does. It's part of her charm.
Suddenly, Haerin's eyes widen almost comically, and she grips Minyoung's arm.
"Is that him?" she whispers.
Almost as one, Minyoung and I turn our heads to follow Haerin's gaze. Minyoung nods slowly, a flush already crawling up her neck to her cheeks.
Now, I'm rarely ever impressed by looks. I've always been one to find intelligence more attractive than appearance, but... this guy is on another level. I've got to hand it to Minyoung, she wasn't exaggerating when she said he was 'fucking hot'. Even I can't tear my eyes away.
I think... what's so striking about him is that he's beyond pretty. I mean, he is pretty, but also not quite. His features are a little too masculine for him to be the conventional "pretty boy". His jaw, far from being the ideal "v" shape, is strong and square. His nose bridge, though high, isn't sharp. His skin, instead of being all peaches and cream, has a natural tan, like golden honey. And his eyebrows are very thick, which, when paired with his sharp eyes, gives him an almost fierce, intimidating vibe. But balancing out all these very masculine features are full lips with a defined cupid's bow, and lashes that, even from a distance, I could tell are long and thick.
He walks towards the coffee machine with a stride that's confident without being cocky. He has a natural, easy grace that screams 'I'm here. I belong here. I know my place in this world.' I think it's what people would call 'self-assured'.
As he bends to get a mug from the shelves under the countertop where the coffee machine stands, a lock of hair falls forward on his forehead, and he pushes it back with a (very long-fingered) hand in one smooth motion. I swear I could hear a few feminine sighs all around the room, one of which came from directly beside me. I glance at Minyoung, who has a glazed look in her eyes.
"And just like that, I'm wet," she sighs.
"Minyoungie!!!" Haerin hisses once more, but this time Minyoung pays her no heed. Minyoung is already unbuttoning the top buttons of her blouse, and pushing her cleavage up.
"Wish me luck, girls!" she tells us with a wink, "I'm going in."
She marches over to the new guy with determination in her eyes and a sway in her hips.
"I can't watch this car crash," I tell Haerin. I grab my coffee and head back to the office.

"I think he's gay," Minyoung laments as she sinks into her seat. My desk is at the farthest end of our pod, next to the window, with Haerin to my left, and Minyoung at Haerin's other side.
"What makes you say that?" Haerin asks curiously.
"He didn't even once, not once, glance down at my boobs," Minyoung declares, indignant, "which are in top form today, by the way."
"Has it crossed your mind that maybe he just doesn't want sexual harassment charges filed on him in his first day?" I deadpan.
"No way!" Minyoung huffs, "No one has ever been able to resist my girls when they're on full display. No one!"
I don't know how to feel about Minyoung calling her boobs 'my girls', but thankfully, Haerin and I are saved from having to respond by our manager's arrival.
"Listen up, ladies!" she announces, "As you know, we're currently working on acquiring a new client, a really big one, and we've decided to put together a 'task force' of sorts to help the Sales Department put together the proposal. Eun-ae-ssi," she says, looking at me, "I've chosen you as our department's representative, since you're my top performer. The group will have its first meeting in the Purple Room at 1pm. I sent you the calendar invite. Don't be late."
"Yes, gwajang-nim," I answer, and she leaves, satisfied.
"Congrats!" Haerin tells me, in the same tone she would use if she were saying, 'I'm sorry your pet died.'
"See, this is why you should never be too good at your job," Minyoung says, "They just give you more work."
I sigh and turn back to my computer, pulling up my email to accept the calendar invite. Even though it's more work, I'm actually happy. I love working on special projects, since it takes me out of the usual, boring day-to-day, and challenges me to become better at what I do.
The only downside is, I would have to interact with people from other departments. Curious, I look at the calendar invite to see who else is in the 'task force'. Though I don't really interact much with any of my coworkers outside of Haerin and Minyoung, I have a really good memory for names and faces.
I murmur the names and their respective departments as I go down the list. It's all people I've already interacted with at some point, so I'm not feeling too nervous.
And then, at the end of the list, one unfamiliar name:
'Kim Taehyung.'
