Autumn's POV

" Autumn Bale " I wrote into my journal. I shut it and slid it under my bed. I'm Autumn. No, I'm not your typical average girl teenager. I'm not worried about love and I don't ever think I will be. Love isn't important right now, besides, I don't think I'd find that " special guy " anyway. I had just woken up to the sound of my alarm playing a classical song. I got out of bed and did my hygiene. I put on my clothes. Then, I headed downstairs to see my mother Sharon.

" Hey darling " she said giving me a peck on my cheek. " Hey mom " I said returning the kiss with a side-hug. " Are you excited for your first day of school ? " she asked with a smile. " I mean .. I guess " I said with a shrug. " What's wrong ? " she asked. " Nothing .. nothing at all " I said moving away from her. I had secrets that I kept from my mom. They were too much for her to know. After breakfast, she drove me to school. As I got out of the car and exchanged goodbyes, I took a good look at my school as my mother drove off. "ICHS" it read " Intelligent Children High School ". I took a deep breath and walked in. As I walked in, all eyes were on me. Girls rolled their eyes, boys licked their lips. Typical high school.

As I walked around all eyes were still on me. What is it because of what I was wearing? What something wrong? Was there something on my shirt? I kept looking around finally seeing my best friend Maya. Maya ran to me and hugged me, I hugged back, grabbed her hand and led her near the janitor's closet.

" Maya, why is everyone staring at me? " I asked feeling a little uneasy. " You didn't hear? Everyone's rambling on about how you weren't at Laura's party but don't worry, I didn't go either. " Maya said, smiling at me. Laura was the "popular" girl. She was favorited by the students and especially the teachers. Everyone knew their boundaries around Laura. She basically ran this school without licensing. There was one thing about Laura, she despised Maya and I. I'm not sure why, she just did.

" We've gotta get to class, Autumn, hurry " Maya said. We grabbed our things out of our lockers and ran straight to class.

3 Hours Later

As Maya and I walked out of school, Laura noticed us. She walked by and gave us the usual look. " Losers " she said and walked by. I looked at Maya and laughed, we didn't have time for foolishness. As Maya and I were walking through the parking lot, I noticed my brother Jeffrey. He walked towards us.

" Hey guys " said Jeffrey, smiling at Maya. Jeffrey liked Maya, Jeffrey and I have known Maya since elementary school.

" Hey Jeff " Maya said, returning the smile. Jeffery was popular in school, so everyone left me alone, I was known as " Jeffrey's sister " not really acknowledging me but, I guess it's cool.

" I'm hungry " I finally said. " Let's go to Pete's Pizza around the corner " said Maya. Jeffrey and I agreed and we walked out of the parking lot and on our way to get some delicious slices of pizza.
