Autumn's POV

" Day 2 " I wrote in my journal. I slid the book back under my bed where I retrieved it from. I was currently doing my hygiene. I felt as if I was overthinking the whole " Laura's Party " situation. Who actually cares that I didn't go? She just a snobby girl who's filthy rich. I shouldn't keep thinking about it. So I pushed the thought out of my mind. I had gotten dressed and sat down on my bed. I thought about something, " Love ". That word disgusted me. Not to mention I won't ever find it. I wonder what it felt like to have a spouse that could understand the things that you went through. It's disappointing that I'll never find out.

" Autumn ! Get ready, it's time for school!" I hear my mother yell downstairs. " Coming ! "I yelled. It was Tuesday, sadly. No where near Friday. As I was about to grab my backpack, I thought about something.. someone actually, my father. My father was in the military. I miss him dearly. I wonder what he's doing at the moment.

" Come on, slow poke ! " yelled my mother. " Okay, okay, coming! " I yelled back. I went downstairs and grabbed my keys. I locked the door and hopped inside the car. Then, my mom took off.

30 Minutes Later

Autumn's POV

I walked inside of the school and went straight to my locker. Maya was nowhere to be found. Where could she be ? I noticed Jeffery.

" Hey A Cakes " said Jeffrey. " A Cakes " was my nickname for me from Jeffrey.
" Hey Jeff .. have you seen Maya ? " I asked. " I saw her run into the girl's bathroom, she didn't even say hi to me. She looked pretty upset. " he said with a frown. " Thanks " I said, walking quickly to the restroom. I put my ear to the door and heard sniffling. Then, I opened the door to find a teary - eyed Maya. I immediately gave her a hug.

" Maya .. what happened, what's wrong ? " I asked concerned.

Silence

" Maya ? "

" There's horrible people in this school, Autumn. We've gotta transfer. Or..or it'll happen to you too. " said Maya.

" What are you talking about ? " I asked, confused and concerned.

" Laura and her g-gang .. they're u-up to something.. and I-It's gonna hurt me .. and you in the end " she said, sniffing.

" .. What ? I don't understand Maya, what are you talking ab- "

" There's no time for talking, we've got to get to class before someone hears us. " she said in a whisper. She grabbed my hand and we left the restroom. The hallway was completely empty. We ran to class and made it on time.

3 Hours Later

Maya and I didn't even stop to talk to Jeffrey. We immediately ran to my house. When we got there, I unlocked the door. My house was empty. Where's my mother ? Maya and I went upstairs and checked her room. As we opened the door. I saw my mother there ..

Sobbing.
