Rosy slowly opened her eyes, wincing at the bright lights of the hospital room. Her head throbbed with pain, and as she tried to recall the events that happened within 24 hours . The memories came flooding back , the car crash, the mysterious man who rescued her, and the gunshots.

As she struggled to piece together what has happened, a flood of voices and hurried footsteps outside her room caught her attention. She strained to listen, trying to make sense of the commotion.

Suddenly, the door swung open, and a tall figure stepped into the room. Rosy's breath caught in her throat as she caught sight of a handsome man with piercing blue eyes and a strong jawline, his expression is unreadable as he approached her bedside.

"Are you okay?" His voice was deep masculine and commanding, cutting through the haze of confusion that clouded Rosy's mind.

Rosy nodded weakly, her gaze fixed on his intense blue eyes. In those piercing blue eyes, she saw a depth of emotion that took her breath away with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine.

"Who... who are you?" she managed to ask, her voice barely above a whisper.

The man hesitated for a moment before offering her a small, reassuring smile. "I'm here to make sure you're okay. My name is Nikkolo."

Rosy nodded, taking in his handsome features and the strength in his gaze. There was something about him that drew her in, something she couldn't quite put her finger on.

Time seemed to stand still as they held each other's gaze, the air charged with an undeniable tension.

But just as quickly as the moment had begun, it was shattered by the sound of footsteps approaching.

The door swung open, and a doctor entered the room, breaking the spell that had enveloped between them. Rosy tore her gaze away from Nikkolo's, her heart pounding in her chest as she tried to compose herself. But she couldn't shake the feeling that in that brief moment, she felt something towards him.

As the doctor is a middle aged woman with a kind smile approached Rosy's bedside, her eyes scanning the charts and monitor. I read her small box badge which was attached to the white coat. Neatly named as Tina Carter.

"How are you feeling, Miss Mathew?" she asked, her tone gentle yet professional.

Rosy shifted uncomfortably against the pillows, wincing as a dull ache throbbed in her head. "I've been better," she admitted, offering the doctor a weak smile.

As the doctor finished her examination, she turned to Rosy with a reassuring smile.

"Your vital signs are looking good, Miss Mathew," she said, flipping through her chart. "It seems you've been very lucky. You suffered a mild concussion from the impact, but fortunately, there doesn't appear to be any serious injury."

Rosy let out a sigh of relief, feeling the tension in her body gone easily. She had been worried about the extent of her injuries, but it seemed she had escaped with only minor harm.

"Thank you, Dr...Carter " Rosy said and Dr Carter nodded in return.

"I informed your Mom about the accident around 15 mins ago. You can get discharged after a day's rest in hospital. " Dr Carter replied softly.

Rosy nodded again and thanked her.

As the doctor exited the room,Niko took a step closer to Rosy's bedside, his gaze lingering on her bandaged head with a mix of concern and guilt.

"I'm sorry about what happened," he began, his voice low and tinged with regret. "It wasn't supposed to go down like that."

Rosy met his gaze, her own expression a mix of confusion and suspicion. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice cautious.

Niko hesitated, as if debating how much to reveal. "The accident," he clarified, his next words measured carefully. "It was my men who crashed into your car. It was a mistake, a miscalculation ."

Rosy's eyes widened in surprise, her mind reeling at the revelation. "Your men?" she echoed, her voice barely above a whisper. "But why?"

Niko sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "It's complicated," he admitted, his gaze flickering away for a moment before returning to meet hers. "Let's just say there are forces at play that neither of us fully understand."

Despite herself, Rosy found herself drawn to his sincerity, a flicker of understanding dawning in her eyes. "I see," she murmured, her voice softening with empathy. "Well, accidents happen, I suppose."

Niko nodded, a hint of relief passing over his features. "Thank you for being understanding, and take rest" he said sincerely, his gaze holding hers for a moment longer before he turned to leave, his expression unreadable.

As he reached for the door handle and stepped out of the room, immediately one of his men stepped forward, a grim look on his face.

"Boss, we've just received word. One of our shipments got attacked by the Russian mafia," the man reported in a low voice.

Niko's jaw tensed, his blue eyes narrowing slightly. "Tell Simon to get the car ready" he said in a cold voice.

"Yes, boss" said one of his men.

Even though they all informed Nikkolo in a low voice, Rosy heard everything.

After one hour her mother cane and asked her what happened and whose car was that, but still Rosy didn't want to complicate things more because of the conversation she heard before between the men, she lied to her mom that her car got crashed by a drunk person and she was unconscious the whole time and she doesn't have any idea about whose car it was. Rosy also told her mom about the person who saved her life is a man and she didn't say more about him. Then she successfully distracted her mom by informing her about her discharge.

The next morning, Rosy got discharged but still her mind filled with uncertainty and fear.

Who's this man that saved her? Was he truly the saviour he appeared to be, or was more to him than met her eye?

The thoughts sent a shiver down her spine. She distracted her mind by chatting with her mom asking about her brothers and she successfully got distracted talking about them.
